WOYWW 188 - First of the New Year for me

Hello Friends

Well today is Wednesday and in crafting blog circles that means WOYWW or What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, or show us your desk and I will show you mine.  Here is mine....

Fairly tidy but I was finishing a card off late last night for a friend.  I am not showing you as it is a blogging friend and I want her to receive it before seeing it on here.  You can see I have had a bit of a move around and that big wooden box has moved to the centre and has been cleared out a bit.  My tools bag has been moved about 6' closer to me, i.e. not up the end of the room where I cannot reach, and my twirly ink applicator stand has moved to my left as I am contemplating buying another layer.  You can also see in front of my wooden box a gorgeous calendar which my lovely friend made and I have rung all the birthdays for the month in order that I know when I need to make one for instead of a last minute card!

Can I show you a tip?  If you pop to Aldi and buy one of these tins of cookies, you not only get some nice cookies but......

...look what you can get in the tin afterwards.....

By my calculation, at a squeeze, you can get 42 Distress Inks in there!  Woo Hoo!  No more trying to find any more Cadburys Fingers tins and they all go in one tin though it does make it heavy.  Don't laugh, but yes all those ink pads are in alphabetical order as I get frustrated if they are not in order!

Thanks for calling by.  Don't forget to link up with the Ravishing Julia to join in the mayhem err I mean fun of WOYWW!  Dancing tonight so will see ya later!  And if not today, then later in the week.

Gotta dash as my girls want feeding and letting out!

Hugs

Hettie

I like your style, Sam. Eat biscuits to store DI's. How brilliant that they fit in like that. I've filled the shelf mine are on so will be looking for more storage... biscuit anyone.
Your desk is looking very organised with everything to hand and I love that pretty mug.
Have a look for my paints when you pop over to mine so that I can finish your vase. I've tidied them up and now can't find them.. grrrrr!! Good job you're patient.
Have a great day and Happy WOYWW

Ravishing. OMG I nearly spat coffee over you! I LOVE the tin..but Aldi doesn't feature anywhere near me...will have to do some investigating..it's might be worth the journey! I laughed to read that you're 'contmeplating' buying another layer for the stand..., just go ahead and do it...you will at some stage anyway!

ah dont think our Aldi has these but dont have that many DI - though must admit am running out of room in my ink-pad drawer, as all pads are in one drawer. But love the tin Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #6

But . . . but . . . am spluttering here . . . aren't you supposed to keep your ink pads FLAT????? Won't all the ink leak out or end up at one side?????

Pretty clear desk anyway and it's good to have a sort out and switch round.

Happy WOYWW my friend.

How lovely and organized! Is that a storage area under your craft mat? I have to start looking for some good, clear storage boxes for my stuff, because I seem to not use the stuff I can't see...

Happy Wednesday!

I saw those in Aldi, aren't they great? Ah, the sacrifices we crafters have to make to satisfy our storage needs (as well as our biccy ones, ) :)Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #73 xx

Hee hee I love how the crafter in us always finds a way to store our things in the least obvious place. Cookie tins are good! Take care Zo xx 43

The only problem with that tin is that I'd have to eat all the biscuits in it before I could use it and I REALLY don't need to be doing that right now!! Lovely tidy desk, for you that is!! Can't believe it'll stay like that though, or least I hope not!

Can see I need a trip to Aldi, not for the biscuits, of course not, me. eat biscuits, how could you think that. No purely for artistic reasons.
How long before the tidy desk is no more - 10 minutes if it were mine.

Have a good week.

Ok, I NEED that tin. I was just at Aldie over the weekend and don't remember seeing it. Will have to go again and see if I missed it. Hoping it is not just a regional item. Love it!!

I am new to WOYWW and friends with Sandee. Hope you have a chance to check out my blog and desk.

I LOVE the suit case tin, it's so cute, yes, it would have to repurposed! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Genius tip-off on the biscuit tin, thank you! I'm in the process of altering a similar one, but not deep enough for DIs I think... and anyway I plan to use it for finished tags that I want to transport.

I've been after a twirly blending tool thingy for a while - so you'd definitely recommend it then, if you're going for the second layer?! Happy WOYWW!

The perfect tin for those ink pads, with enough spare space so that you can buy more...what's not to like?? I can see Julia finding out where our nearest Aldi is so she can get the tin!

What a cool tin. I haven't seen anything like that in my part of the States. But I was always told to keep my inkpads upside down except for the new-fangled SU! ones that are upside down inside the rightsideup casing, if you know what I mean.

Of course, I LOVE that they are alphabetical!! Have a great week, Sam, if I don't see you before!

Hi Sam!
The cookies box is a great idea - also love the box - soo TH style! You are such a busy bee - when do you have time to do all this crafting ??? Books, and twinchies and other projects - really amazing - I feel like I am the slowest crafter in the world! It takes me ages to make one thing!
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian

Hi Sam!

Happy New Year (somewhat belatedly!) - can you believe how late I am in getting to you - nothing quite like the eleventh hour, eh?

Love the tin, though my waistline does NOT like it so much, but I have to say I wouldn't use it for DI's - I love my RUB divider far too much!

Catch you tomorrow....

I feel good that I am not the odd one who saves tins and things. I started a re-purposing project with a Walkers Biscuit tin I just haven't gotten around to posting the before and after. I used mine for wooden stamps.
