Scrapbook Tuesday - Tea on Tuesday - T Stands for True Love!

Hello there

I know last month was supposed to be the "love month", being Valentine's Day and all that, but on Saturday when my buddy was up for a day of scrapping, I felt in the mood for doing another layout (or two in fact) of my Wedding Album.  So I routled amongst the photographs and saw these two and decided to scrap them.

Ahhhhh!  Young love ey!  I cannot believe that these were taken nearly 25 years ago!  I don't feel old enough!

My trusty morning cuppa of Glengettie is to the side.  In a Teddy mug which even has my name of it.  Well, if you know me I am rather fond of hugs!

So, down to nitty gritty.  The papers are from the Album set which I bought many moons ago, and which came with the album they are for.  I have had it for so long I cannot remember the make off hand. The dragonflies are buttons with the shanks cut off.  I could not resist using them on this layout.  Bought from The Button Lady at a quilting show.

There is a little bit of a pun on this text....I only have eyes for you!  We met when I worked at an Opticians.  Mr Hettie was a customer and said he decided on our firm 'cos he fancied me!  Hmmmn!  In fact, I made the very glasses he is wearing on our Wedding Day!  He usually wears reactolite lenses and I did not want him to look like a member of the Taffia if the sun was out!  The "So" is from some old chipboard letters which I just edged with silvery black Memento ink and then added some Distress Stickles.

The Happy was from the same strip which I cut up for another layout a while ago.  The ivy leaves are from my Joanna Sheen die having seen it on a certain Pixie's blog.  Had to have it as I live at Ivy Cottage!  I have used some Distress Stickles on them to give a lickle schparkle to them.  Cut from Snippets of course!  I also used some Snippets to cut the flourishes from.

We look so young!!

Well, as you will see I have shared my cuppa with you, so I am linking up with Elizabeth and Bleubeard for the T on Tuesday.  I should have asked for a note from my Mum as to why I was away last week, but I will just have to hope she doesn't notice!  I am also sharing this with the Snippets Playground as there are some in there.

Thanks for calling by.

Scrapbooking Tuesday - Mum's Christmas Pressie

Hello There

Welcome to Scrapbooking Tuesday.  Not many more before the year is over.  I have to say that I am pretty pleased with myself for keeping this Tuesday slot going for as much as I have.  Glad you like to see my Scrapbooking offerings and thank you all for your kind comments throughout the year.

Today I thought I would share with you a mini album which I have made for my Mum for Christmas.  It is 6x6" and very simple to make.  I got the inspiration from Laura Denison of Following the Paper Trail from a video I saw on You Tube a little while ago.  You may remember I made a miniature version to put my ATCs from WOYWW earlier this year.

The papers I have used are some VOS K&Co papers which as you may realise, I have had for some time.  They are double sided and I have been hanging on to this pad waiting for that particular project to come up.
The flowers on the front are a mixture of TH, Paperartsy, Prima and Sizzix.  The white Prima flowers have been sprayed with Sand Glimmer Mist.  The brown border is a flocked "ribbon" that I bought at a crafting outlet ages ago.  I also used my TH Doiley die onto which I stamped my TH flourish stamp with Gathered Twigs DI
Here is the spine which has been tied together with ribbon.  The idea is that as the album gets filled you can release the ribbons a little to allow for the spine to move.

Inside pages on which I used a plethora of Snippets and VOS embellishments.  The butterfly stickers were from a sheet I bought eons ago.
The tags were Papermania and I mounted them onto coloured card so that they didn't just merge into the background.
Each double page spread is made from one sheet of 12x12 paper and is folded to form two pages with pockets just by folding and adhering tape/dsst.
I punched the corners with Martha Stewart punches and my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper.  A lot of the ribbons came from my Ribbon Basket in which I keep Snippets (i.e. anything less than half a meter or recycled from clothes with ribbons in the shoulders).
I also pinched some of Lesley's card when she wasn't looking - Shhh!  All the tags were cut by hand using a tag from my collection to draw around.

This is the front cover paper which has the back cover paper on it's reverse!  I doodled around all the pages and the large square pages have paper on the reverse as on the front, making them double sided.  I inked throughout with Gathered Twigs DI.

The back cover, with a chipboard flower hiding the glued on ribbon which I added after the event!  Doh!

Thanks for popping by.  I hope you like it and that my Mum will too!

I shall be popping this into the Snippets Playground as there are loads of Snippets used up in this.

Art Journalling - Words Words Words

Hello There.

Monday morning again!!  How did that happen?

I haven't been playing in my Journal book for ages and this is one I did a wee while ago, so I thought it was about time I shared it with you....
This is kind of a reflection of my day as a PA/Legal Executive.  Words!
Lots of Snippets used in this too and some VOS of the letter stickers.  No idea how long they have been in my stash.

Some Artistic Outpost, Wendy Vecchi and Tim Holtz stamps and bits of old dictionary too....
Gesso, acrylic paint, stencils made from the waste of chipboard letters as well as some Snippets taken from the local newspaper.

I really enjoyed playing with this page and I must get my book back out again very soon.

I am going to show this to my buddies at the Snippets Playground.  I hear we have a new friend to play with in the puddles - a cute frog.  Off to find him!

Have a good week y'all.

Mini Wedding Album...More Of...

Hello there Friends

Today is Tuesday so as part of my Scrapbook Tuesday I thought I would share some more of my Mini Wedding Album which I am desperately trying to finish so it can be another Done tick on my list!

As you may recall it was our Wedding Anniversary last week and I still struggle to think that our Wedding was sooooo long ago!  Eek!

Oh the joy of the confetti moment when it goes everywhere, including down your underwear!  I am saying nothing more on the subject!
I love this photo.  This is Rhys my Nephew with my Sister.  We were at his Wedding earlier this year.  That makes me feel even older!  I even dug some of my peel offs on this page!  VOS!

And here are my In-Laws.  I still miss my Father-in-Law greatly.  I used to call him "Pops" as even now I cannot call my MIL by her Christian name.  Hubby feels the same about calling my parents by their Christian names too!

As these are full of Snippets I shall be taking these right down to the Snippets Playground, where we now have Parsnip in charge while Miss is on her "Teacher Training"!!  Yeah Right!

Thanks for calling by.

Scrapbooking Tuesday - One Fine Day...

Hello Blogging Friends

I hope you have all had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend.  Wasn't it nice to see a bit of sun again?   Unfortunately I was a poorly bunny at the start of the weekend but have now rallied around just in time to go back to work!

You know I recently told you that April is a busy month for me Birthday wise?  Well, one of the Special Birthdays was Mr Hettie's and as usual I made him something daft for his Birthday, and I thought I would share it with you today as it is a Mini Scrapbook.  You might want to make a cuppa or get a glass of something as this is a little picture heavy!

The cover was made using a heavyweight chip board which I painted with some red emulsion, before stamping with Black Soot DI and also rubbing some BS DI over the surface.
I used my trusty BIA to bind the whole book together and added some Snippets of ribbon and two small charms.  The saw is a hint of what is to come!

The main papers used are some We Are Memory Keepers papers which I bought ages ago with an album, that I had quite forgotten about, as well as some Snippets from my Snippets boxes.  I turned to my Diesel Punk, Think and Wonder and Lovely Day Artistic Outpost stamps for stampings.  I also used my new Inkylicious Splodge stamp to look like oil blobs!

The arrows and other embellishments were cut using various Sizzix dies.  Zips from my sewing box for extra layers.  Yes this is yours truly!!  These photos were taken in the early 1990s!!
Those car stickers I have had forever.  I also doodled on all the pages.  Added some pearls, buttons, sparklies, and brads.
This piece of punched ribbon was made for my Christmas Album!  Tee Hee!
Please excuse the pun.......
Some Martha Stewart punchings..
These little glasses were a broach which comes from when I used to work for an opticians....1986-1989!  Talk about hanging on to things "just in case"!
And here is Sputnik casting an eye over the project!
The little white printed arrows came from Wilkinsons and are like post-its! I knew they would come in handy at some point!
Some Czech stickers we bought on one of our trips.

And here is the back cover with a car sticker.  Fortunately we had two so Mr Hettie didn't mind too much!

I hope you enjoyed my Mini Album for Mr Hettie.  I shall be popping it over to the Playground as there are sooo many Snippets in there.  I shall also be putting it into the Artistic Outpost Challenge as I have used my AO stamps.

Have a good week everyone.

Hugs

Hettie
