CC101 - Hand Made Book and Tags!

Hello Peeps!

Happy Friday and have a great Weekend to y'all.  Two posts in one day doesn't happen too often on my blog, but I want to get this post on before the end of the month and I am off out tomorrow.

I don't know if you remember but last year I undertook a CC101 online course with Tim Holtz and made lots of tags using the techniques that Tim taught online.  As a result of this I was invited to join a Facebook group and recently one of the members Neil taught a live online course for us members to take part in making a book with 25 techniques to undertake on tags in, live through Hangouts on Google.  What a lorra fun we all had online with some of the Peeps getting up at stupid o'clock to join in.

So here is my book all finished....

Inside cover....

Back cover....
Inside back cover...
The first six techniques....
The second six techniques...
The third batch of techniques...
And the last six techniques...
And the final technique......
The book was made by hand sewing the signatures up with waxed cord before attaching it to the book cover.
I am entering this into the Facebook Challenge for this month which is "Anything Goes".

Thanks for calling by and have a great weekend.

Hugs

CC101 Challenge - Resist Stamping

Hello Friends

Talk about leaving things to the last minute!  Today is the last day for the CC101 Challenge which I have to admit I have not taken place for some time now.  The Challenge is to use the stamp resist technique with clear embossing powder.  This is one of my favourite techniques, so without further ado here is my piece.....

I have used three Tim Holtz stamps throughout, clear embossing powder, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks.  A little bit of spritzing of the background and all mounted onto some Bazzill cardstock to mount all the pieces on to the card.
I have made a fold out card with the front panel adhered to the front folded piece.
To finish the piece off I used some of my old book to make a Tattered Floral flower and a brad having inked the pages of the book.
Here is the inside panel.  I was trying to capture the Glimmer Mist which I had sprayed onto the whole card, but no such luck!  You will just have to believe me. Around the edges of the card I used a different flourish stamp which I inked with GT and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The space in the centre has been left in order that I can chose what sentiment to use when I need it.

Snippets were used in the construction of this card with the book as well as some of the dark brown cardstock.  I shall call down to the Playground to show this to the girls.

Thanks for calling by.  Do please leave me a comment so I know you have been.

CC101FB September Challenge

Hello Friends

What a cold, wet, miserable Sunday it is today.  I can tell you that 23 years ago today it was a beautiful day with blue sky, hardly a cloud all day and warm!  Oh yes.  How do I know this?  It was Mine and Mr Hettie's Wedding Day!  So what better day is it then to have a play in the Craft Room and have some fun!!

The guys over at the CC101 Facebook group have had a challenge running all month to emboss a background and use some Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Stickles.  I am entering by the skin of my teeth at the 11th hour!!  Here is mine.....

I decided to have a bit of Hallowe'en fun using some new MME stamps which arrived a few days ago.

Here is a little close up of those stickles...

I used a plethora of DIs (Dusty concord, weathered wood, rusty hinge, wild honey, mustard seed, vintage photo, black soot) as well as Jet black archival ink.

Thanks for popping by and please leave me a comment so I know you have called.  Off out to Dinner shortly at our favourite Pub so must fly!!!
