T stands for ..... My Dad Scrapbook Tuesday

Hello there Peeps

OK!  Who stole the big round yellow shiny thing that was in the sky yesterday?  It IS still dry but it is a tad chillier here today.

So today is Tuesday.  Day 4 of no-rain-since-October-phenomonon!  That means it is time for me to share a layout and a cuppa with my friend Elizabeth and Bleubeard.

So here goes.....

This photo was taken on Christmas Eve.  Yes it is my Dad!  The cup one of my favourites which portrays a picture of a poster that was around on railways in times gone past.  Hubby bought it for me on one of our trips to York Railway Museum.  It was not the last trip so must be around 7 1/2 years old now.  And no chips!  I cannot bear chips in cups and if I find one the cup has to go!  No sentimentalities about it - out it goes.  If a handle goes I move them upstairs in my craft room for water or brushes, if it is a special one! No chips though!  Got that?  The tea is good ole' Glengettie - a Welsh brew!

This picture below is a better representation of the colours.  The background piece is a VOS sheet of Kaisercraft I bought a while ago and have not used.  Tut Tut!  I just love Nutcrackers.  I had a rummage in my Snippets box as well as the box with my Guernsey album in and found lots of long strips of plain cardstock, as well as the cream piece (second from left) which was left on my desk from the mini ATC album I shared last week.
I stamped the background sheet with two Crafty Individuals stamps and inked around the edge.  I punched the purple/red TH strip with my EK Success punch and sanded it to show the core, likewise I sanded the orange and green strips too.
The tiny rosettes are VOS from K&Company bought many MANY moons ago and the little stars are off the same sheet too.  The wooden DAD is from a pack bought in The Works a long time ago.  There is something new on here though - the die I cut the star from.  The star paper is a Snippet though, and once attached I stickled around the star using a black stickle.
I added the string on the photo 'cos my Dad always has string in his pocket, as well as some rubber bands.  A star, well, that is my Dad! and a tag with the date on.  The "Full of Joy" is from Cosmo Cricket.

Dobby insisted on standing still (for once) and having his photo taken so he could say "Hi" to my friends and especially Bleubeard!

Thank you for popping in.  I hope you like my layout.  I shall find out if Dad does on the weekend!  Off to join my friends over at Elizabeth's with my cuppa.  I am also taking the layout over to the Snippets Playground as there was a plethora of Snippets used on this layout, including the string which came from a the tag on my new shopping bag!

Christmas Poinsettia Cards

Hello there.  Happy Sunshiney Monday to you all.

I hope you had a great weekend in all this Spring sunshine?

On Saturday I went with my dancing teacher to Swansea for a Day School of Scottish Dancing and then a Tea Dance.  It was lovely and we ended up having to open the doors and windows. It was a great day and I learnt lots of hints and tips as well as a few new dances.

Sunday I spent outside actually hanging washing out and letting my Girls have a good romp around in the grass.

Today I am going to share some cards with you.  All made using die cut vellum and creating poinsettia which I moulded, scored and coloured with Copic pens. I used darker reds and greens than I did last time so that they didn't look quite so pink!

I would hate to try and guess how old some of the brads are.  I have even used a NBUS on here.  I am always looking for small shapes on which to stamp sentiments and I saw a Spellbinders sign die going for a song so I snapped it up.  Just the right size for this and some other stamps.  Much better than wonky cuts!

One of my favourite MB die cuts here.  Love the bow and star.  I have looked at other versions but still love this one.
A change of "ribbon" below.  I used my EK Success punch and added little stickles for embellishment.
So that is all from me today.  A little bit of Christmas on a sunny day.  More to add to my box - yippee!

Have a great day.  I shall hopefully be able to call by later when I get home.  I am taking this down to the Snippets Playground as there are a plethora of snippets in these cards.

Snippets A-Plenty...

Hello There

I don't know about where you are but we have a little unexpected sunshine today.  It is so lovely to have it streaming through my window right now, and I will NOT be complaining about the fact that I cannot see my screen very well!

Yeay!  It is getting closer to the weekend!  I hope you all have nice things to look forward to.Me, I have my quilting group and I will be taking my latest project as I only have a few short weeks in which to finish it, having lost a lot of time being poorly!

Right, on to day's little show'n'tell!  I was having a little rummage through my Tin of Shame earlier in the week, with the intention of reducing its contents, as well as that of my Snippets drawer.  So first we have this......
The stamping was sent to me by a Special Friend some time ago.  I have coloured it in using Copics, punched some flowers using a Snippet and adhered them and spotted the centres with Liquid Pearls. I used two pieces of Snippets on the card and cut some "lace" from a third.  A little TH tag and SU stamp, with some embroidery cotton and one card complete.
Well, almost complete.  I decided to add some glossy accents to two of the balloons just to give them some shine.

Card 2.......
Another stamping sent to me by the same Special Friend.  Notice a theme?  Again coloured with Copics and then I came across a little piece of MME card left from making my Cousin's mini album.  I added two buttons, recycled from a card.  Oh and some doodling sewing too.

As I had a teeny tiny piece left, I stamped some banners on and cut them out, to place in the inside!  Can't let nice paper go to waste now can we?

Off to join in the fun and frolics of the Snippets Playground.  Hopefully it will be a little drier than it has of late and there might be some hunky men having a Diet Coke break (other canned drinks are available!)!!  In my dreams I think!

TTFN and thanks for calling by!

PS I just learnt that the GB Girls won their bronze medal in the Curling!  Well done!!  Now then Miss, when is our curling rink being installed?  I am sure I have some old curlers somewhere!

Mandy's Album

Hello There Peeps

Whilst I was rootling around my photos, and backing them up on the external drive, I realised that I have not shared these photos with you.  They are the album I made for my Buddy Mandy for Christmas.  I could not share them before as I know Mandy occasionally visits my Blog.

Front Cover.....

Spine....
Closure.....
Now you may want to put your sunglasses on!.....

Mandy is very much a pink and bright colours kinda gal.  When I made this I was thinking of a particular photo she has of herself and some childhood friends as well as some others.

I used a mixture of Sizzix dies, Memory Box dies, TH stamps, Martha Stewart punches as well as lots of Snippets.
The paper pack I won at a retreat some time ago and was made by Dovecraft.  Not my usual colour pallet but it was rather fun to make this album again. You may remember I used it HERE.  It is amazing how different it looks by using different papers.

I really did have fun playing with the papers and ribbons, pulling out my bright and colourful ribbons.  I love these paper clips that I used throughout.....Ikea!
I can also tell you that Mandy loved it.   Phew!!

I shall be taking this over to the Snippets Playground as it contains plentiful Snippets.  I am also going to join in Simon Says Stamp as there is a heart on the front cover as well as Love on the inside.

I hope to be able to get around more of you this week, but Mr Chestin Fection is taking his time to go!

Scrapbook Tuesday - T is for Tantrum!

Hello There

Tantrum I hear you ask?  Yes this morning when our stupid internet would not load photos on to Blogger for me!  I left my puter lined up to upload a few photos for today's post and when I had my shower I popped in my room to find it was still digesting them.  I had my breakfast and only one was uploaded.  I got dressed and was near enough needing to go to work and I only had two photos uploaded.  So if you would like to see some close ups I have to ask you to F11 or whatever you do to make the photos larger!

So today is Tuesday and as is my custom I am sharing a scrapbook layout with you as well as joining in with my friend Elizabeth over at T for Tuesday.

So I started with a sheet of white cardstock and left it clean and took a piece of graduating blue paper with snowflakes on there and punched it all the way round with MS PATP.  I took my new XCut dies which Santa supplied pennies for me to buy and cut a mat in the blue plain cardstock and I corner chomped the photo.  Before I adhered this with foam pads, I layered a beautiful MB cut which my lovely friend sent me having embossed it with WOW embossing powder.  This is my new found favourite embossing powder of choice btw!

I took some Snippets of papers and ribbons and layered the layout with these and VOS ribbons as well as stamping the Theresa Collins calender onto Snippets of white cardstock and AO sentiment.  I used some Snowflakes from my Tin of Shame as well as made some more and layered these up with some TH sprigs too.  Under the snowflakes middle right, there are some stick pins too, which I cannot now show you a close up of.  The skates are from TH die which another friend of mine sent to me.  I embossed them with WOW white and some silver and laced them with quilting cotton before attaching the snowflake and bell with some sparkly twine in black.  Some gems and hey presto my layout was complete.
And my cup of tea?  We have camomile and honey today in my very special Winnie the Pooh bone china mug. Always prefer tea in bone china.

That's all folks thanks to t'internet!  I am hoping that does not mean we are without again for a while now!  I cannot even blame it on the wind as often happens!

Rightio, off to the Snippets Playground to see what mischief has occurred there today and also to Elizabeth's to see what is happening at the tea table.

Thanks for calling by.

Rudolph Day - Last one of 2013!

Hello there Folks

Gosh today is the last Rudolph Day of 2013!!  It doesn't seem long ago that it was the first RD of 2013!

Before I start, you may want to get yourself a large coffee or something stronger as this is a loooong picture heavy post!  As promised I am sharing with you my little project I have been working on ready for December 2013.  Here goes....

Cover....Not very interesting as I decorate it at the end.  I am hoping to pick up a nice charm to dangle off the rings when I go to Bath with Miss and the Troublemaker on Saturday!

Behind the Silent Night and in other places there are gaps so that extra tags may be popped in later if needed.

Page 3 pulled down...
All the papers used are either a DCWV VOS mat pad, some of which I have struggled with using before as they are landscape and I tend to use portrait for my cards so they are perfick!  I have also used papers from the basket of Christmas Snippets and include papers used in previous Christmas Albums.  Also, like the Christmas trees and the flourish on page 3, they have been sent to me by kind bloggers.

Back of page 3 and Page 4.

Can you see I have a new toy?  A We R MK envelope board.   Love it!

So there you have it.  This year's Christmas Album from me, all ready and waiting to go on Sunday 1st December.  Lots of punching, folding, snippets, VOS, stamping, die cutting and generally having fun making this year's Christmas Album.  I got the idea from a video I came across on YouTube but alas cannot now find it.  If you would like me to show you how to make it I will do a tutorial for you.  Let me know in the comments.  It is quite simple to do the basic page and then engineer it to your whim.

Off to link this up to the last Rudolph Day of 2013 with my Buddy Sandra and also the Snippets Playground as this certainly used up a lot of Snippets in the making.  I am also linking this with Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge - anything goes.

Alison has kindly suggested I also enter this into the Artistic Stamper Challenge - Christmas so that I am doing.  There are still a few days so why not enter a Christmas card in too?

Thanks for bearing with me.

Hugs

Penny Black Snippets Cards...

Hello there Friends

Gosh that weekend went fast - did you hear it as it shot by?  It was a fun fun fun weekend too, which always go quicker! Quilting, Dancing, Crafting and Cooking!  Don't get many of those!

I came across some photos of cards that I have forgotten to share with you, so I thought I would do so now.  The first is for a friend of mine who was having some nasty surgery recently.  He is a dancing friend of many many years and when I saw this stamp it reminde me of a dance called Shepherd's Crook, so I thought it was apt to send to Graham.  I saw him at the Dance on Saturday, still not A1 but getting there, which was lovely to hear.

The second card was a birthday card to a dear friend of mine.  She does not have chickens of her own any more, though she loves all my chicken cards I make and demanded that she had one for her birthday!  Well, her wish was my command.

All papers and trimmings are either Snippets or VOS - or even both.   No idea how long I have had that flower trim - probably out of my Mum's sewing box!  Shhhh!  Don't tell her.

Right, I am off to throw my hat in over at the Snippets Playground. I haven't been there in a few days, nor did I even switch a computer on over the weekend other than to play DVDs in my craft room and print photos for tomorrow's layout.  It is good to get away from the screen now and again!

See ya soon and have a good week.  You'd better wrap up warm as I hear rumours of the four-letter white stuff hitting the UK this week!  Yikes!

Wedding Card for my Nephew

Hello There Friends

I hope you have had a lovely weekend.  I have had a fabulous one sharing time (and lots of chatting) with the WOYWW friends that attended The Crop II yesterday.  Thanks Julia and LLJ for hosting such a wonderful day.  I will share some piccies on Wednesday.

Tonight I thought I would share the Wedding Card I made recently for my Nephew and his Bride Michelle.  The Butterfly Tree is by Poppy Stencil which I bought at Ally Pally with a little gentle persuasion from Playmates, and the glitter is by Hampton Art.  I used a Martha Stewart corner punch and mounted it onto an easel card which I made using Cordinations cardstock.  Tim Holtz flourish stamp.  The small butterflies were punched from a MS punch and embossed with glimmer embossing powder and finished with pearls before mounting them on the card.  There is also a Snippet of ribbon too.

The larger butterflies were made using the same glitter and a butterfly brass stencil which I have had for a loooong time (and never used!).  A Tag cut using a Stampin Up punch and stamp and layered.
Another butterfly inside and stamping inside with white embossing powder.
And another butterfly on the reverse side.

Hope you like my card.  All the white cardstock used (except the tree and butterflies)  is from my (groaning) Snippets box so I can share this with my Playground buddies.    Off to see if Miss Di managed to smuggle us some Ducks and Terrapins back to the Playground!!

One question for you....is there another Bank Holiday this week?  I could sure do with another short week!!

TTFN

Hugs
