Musical Stamped Box

Hello Friends

Tee Hee!  I started to type this post up yesterday and was talking about the super fast weekend, then realised I had forgotten to put one of the photos up!  Oops!! I also had typed that "Christmas seems to have happened a while ago too!  No worries, only 50 or so weeks to go!  Please do not shoot me!"

In today's post I thought I would share a photos of a box which I made for my friend's daughter for Christmas.  Mackensie is taking singing lessons and is pretty much into music, hence the decor which I undertook.  The box started life as an ordinary wooden box which I painted with acrylic paint, applied Ranger glue 'n seal and then stamped around the base with a WOW music stamp.  To this I then adhered some Memory Box die cuts and then sealed this with the seal 'n glue again to ensure the music did not come off too easily!

The top of the box was also painted with several coats of acrylic paint then I started layering the top of the box.  First with a spotted Snippet of paper, which I also used to line the inside top and bottom of the box, then I stamped the music stamp on a piece of cardstock, die cut and embossed using my Nestie and distressed the edge, all with Distress Inks (I cannot remember exactly which DI but I know one of them is Broken China!).  I then layered another piece of cardstock, stamped with a Papermania stamp and die cut with the scalloped circle nestie to which I adhered some Aurora borealis (I can never spell that properly) gems around the edge.  I adhered another Memory Box die cut across the top which had been coloured with DI.  Making a flower out of Paperartsy die cut and stamp, and Kaisercraft flowers and finishing with a brad which has been in my stash for sooooo long, that was my box finished.

I placed a blue bracelet, the gift, inside and carefully wrapped the box with some tissue paper and a ribbon.  I can report that the recipient was very pleased with both the box and the "grown up" bracelet.  The only fly in the ointment is that since she has received the box her poor Mum is now getting nagged to decorate her bedroom in blue to go with the box!  Ho Hum!

Thanks for popping by.  I had a scrappy night with my friend last night (yep! I actually undertook a 12x12 layout Woo Hoo!) so unfortunately did not get onto my puter yesterday evening so I have a lickle catching up to do.  So see ya later alligator!

Hugs

Hettie

The details on this are just delightful. It must have taken a fair bit of patience to get the musical stave where you wanted it. The blues are lovely so I'm not surprised your daughter loved it. Scrappy night sounds fun! I've just enjoyed a lovely wee while catching up with your wonderful creations!
