Sympathy cards...

Hello there

I recently had the very sad task of creating a Sympathy card for a friend of mine and so I put my creativity head on to make these...

I made a spare and unfortunately I had to use that one very recently too!
I really don't like making Sympathy cards but neither do I like to buy them.  I think handmade ones are far more personal, especially when they know I make cards.

The stamped images are Penny Black stamped with DI, the butterflies were cut using Memory Box dies and Snippets and the little sparklies were VOS.

Off to join the Playground Snippets gang for some cheering up now.  It is Monday after all!

Thanks for calling by.

Hettie

Hello Sam

Both cards are beautiful and perfect for the occasion. I love how you have used the same stamp but displayed it differently.

Well it's a shame you had occasion to make AND use two sympathy cards, but they are both gorgeous. Am sure they did their bit to help the bereaved know you care.

BIG HUGS,

Lovely cards Sam - I do think that stamp (called Letters and Flowers) is a beauty and perfect for Sympathy cards. So sorry you had to use two in quick succession :(

Parsnip sends and extra hug!

Hi Hettie or Sam,
I never know what to call you.
Isn't it very sad to have to make one, but two that are needed so close to each other, I bet you need a good hug.
super cards even if they are for a sad occasion.
Love the fab stamp used on these.
I also hate to make sympathy cards.
Lots of crafty love, and gentle hugs.Jenny L.

Two beautiful cards for very sad occasions. Good thing you made the extra as it is harder to make after the fact, I fell.

I love that image and the butterfly...looks so lovely with the sentiment stamped either way!

Yep...back in the freezer and hope to finish my 50 by the next end of the season Scrapbook store garage sale...there are literally thousands of items for 80 or even 90% off.

If I don't finish my second round of 50 then I can only buy non consumables like stamps or dies...but there are fab prices on those too!

I think all of us loathe making these huni - it's not something I am comfortable making myself.
Oddly enough there have been a couple of times recently when a finished card says to me that it's ideal for a sympathy card so I kept some for us and gave my mum some - as you say it doesn't seem right not to make your own if they are for someone near and dear. Very pretty and very elegant Karen x

The stamped image in that muted tone works really well. And I agree, don't like making sympathy cards but wouldn't dream of buying one instead

I love the stamp you used here, it seems perfect for sympathy cards which are never easy to make. It's very sad that you needed to use them both so close together.

Two beautiful cards Hettie. The stamp is lovely and the colour is a good choice for sympathy cards. I don't think any of us like making cards for such a sad occasion. Elizabeth xx
