WOYWW 239 - Happy New Year

Hello there!

Happy New Year to you all!!

I want to join in with WOYWW a little more this year as I did not seem to share very much on account of my dancing classes on Wednesday evenings so what better way than to start today.  For those of you who don't know what I am on about, crafters from across the globe show their desks and link up with the lovely Julia for the biggest blog hop every Wednesday.  So without further ado here is my desk.....

As you can see I am actually working on my second desk with my sewing machine and quilt in full swing.  In fact I spent yesterday piecing the back of this quilt and then tacking the three layers together with my tacking gun (great invention) and today I am going to be quilting it, just as soon as I find a thread in a colour I like and is still available to buy (the first one I chose is no longer available and I know I will need more than what I have).

Here is a little more of the quilt for you to see.....

Some of you may have seen this in the process of being put together some time ago.

Right then.  I have shown you mine now you show me yours!  And don't forget to pop HERE to see the Hostess.

Thanks for calling by.

Hettie

Sadly, I have not received your card yet. I hope it is just a little delayed. I do love your quilt and really admire how much work goes into each of those little pieces. That must be nice and warm to work on now.

love the blues and oranges on your quilt, I can see that the thread colour needs to be just right.... good luck.
After much nagging by the handyman I have finally put my sewing machine in the craft room.... not much room for it so don't know how long it will stay there :-)
Happy new year

Cor and wow! I've never seen this before! Happy New Year to you and your loved ones (before I forget) lol! I have a lot of fabric from when we used to live in London and it is in a box under the bed - has been for more than 10 years - been wondering how difficult and fiddly it would be to make a patchwork quilt - will have to look at Youtube! Looking forward to seeing it finished, hope you've got the right thread xx

Happy New Year, Hettie. That quilt is just amazing - well done you!!!
As you can see by the fact I am writing this on a Thursday - I, too, don't get all my visiting done on a Wednesday - in fact, it's often the Monday or Tuesday of the following week before I get round... so don't fret - we all just do what we can.
Take care.
Have a great week.

Mike said not to be concerned mail hasn't arrived: he heard overseas parcels taking 4 weeks!

Happy New Year, Sam. Oh my, but that is a stunning quilt - it would take me forever to make anything half as beautiful. Good luck with finding the right colour of thread so that you can finish the quilting. Have a great week and a wonderful 2014. Hugs, Elizabeth x #79

Happy New Year.

Love the quilt (I have just made my first one too)-I think you and/or Jan should do a teaching session at the next crop as I certainly need instruction on how to edge and quilt my jelly roll tops!!!

Hope we get to meet up soon

I think you have foxed us old timers with your tacking gun Sam - never heard of one before. Sounds like a handy tool. Your quilt is sooooo lovely - well worth the effort involved I am sure. Happy New Year - all the best. x Jo
