Hello There
Here we are on Sunday evening wondering where the weekend went. It all passed in a whooosh! I hope yours was a good one.
I thought tonight I would share a couple of cards which I made for one of my Work Buddies, who asked me to make a card for her male friend who was celebrating his 65th birthday just after Christmas. Ann specifically wanted 65 on there and told me that he was a farmer who loved animals and the countryside.
Always loving a challenge I set about making two, leaving the 65 easy to add on whichever card Ann chose, by putting some foam pads on but not affixing them. Here is card one.......
The leaf with 65 on was left off until Ann decided whether she liked this one.
I used my favourite stamp company Artistic Outpost set Grist Mill with lots of layers, Tonic and Sizzix die cuts, TH wax paper, ribbon, feathers, button and string. The 65s were cut using Quickutz dies. As soon as Ann saw this she said she wanted it.
Then she saw this one....
A Penny Black stamp, coloured with Copics, Snippets of paper layered, ribbon and a glittered 65. Then she was stuck as she wanted both. So she took both hoping a friend of hers would like it. Apparently the Birthday Boy loved them both!!
I am entering the first card in the Artistic Outpost Challenge for January as all the images are from their stamps. I am also entering both cards in the Snippets Playground as they both include Snippets.
Have a good week everyone. Keep warm and safe.
Hettie

I think that's known as being spoilt for choice... two cracking cards, each delicious in their own way. Love the layered mills, and the dancing cow and chickens has left me with a big grin on my face!
Have a great week!
Alison xx
Well would you luv a duck!! There's the other Miss Di and Mrs A having a whale of a time on the second card. Brilliant. hugs Mrs A.
What fab cards love them! huggles Sam xx
Oh my...I think I would have taken them both if I were her too! They are both great card...The old Grist Mill is my fave...I just love that image and you have done a fabulous job with it.
But the farm scene is so cute and makes you smile...and birthdays are about that too!
Two great cards.
Well no wonder she wanted both of them, they are both EXCELLENT cards. Both so different. xxx
I'd have gone for both too Sam! So different yet both are brilliant :) Clever you for holding back the 65 until it was decided.
Oh, Len and I ADORE the piccie of Dobby - and Len says his name is just perfect.
Hugs, Di xx
Your friend is someone after my own heart--when you can't decide take both! Both cards are wonderful but I think the Penny Black one is more festive and fun. The gristmill card is no slouch but I think birthday cards should be fun and frivolous, not quite so artsy.
I love the second one very much and admire the first one too - that mill stamp and the wax paper are gorgeous xx
These are both gorgeous but so different, Sam, no wonder your friend liked and wanted both of them.
Hugs Lisax
I can see why your friend couldn't choose a favorite! What wonderful 65th birthday cards!
Love your vintage card! So fun the way you used that AO image.
