Autumn Twinchie

Hello Friends

Something very odd has happened here.....I typed up my post and all the words have disappeared!!  Ho Hum!  Here we go again!!  Don't you just hate it when that happens!!

The lovely Twinchie Peeps have asked us for this Challenge to create an Autumn Twinchie.  Quite appropriate really as it does seem to be very Autumney at the moment!!  We all know what happens in the Autumn don't we?  Yep! Hallowe'en!!  So here is my take on the Challenge.....

I have gone a little Batty (nothing new there then I hear you add!).  I have used a Sizzlits die to cut the bats out which I then embossed using a TH embossing folder.  The background I cut from cardstock having first embossed with stars.  I added some inks and waxes and then a thick layer of Rock Candy Distress Crackle.  Once this had dried I added some Distress Stains.  This is a technique in the new Compendium of Curiosities of Mr Tim Holtz.  You will see the full details of the technique in there.
The bats were then glossy accented with a Midnight black (cannot quite remember the name of the colour but a Ranger one).  Once all the elements were dried I applied the bats to the background with foam pads to make them look like they were only landing very briefly.  All paper parts were out of my Snippets box so I shall be taking this to the Playground!!  Teacher has gone away so we will have some fun building the Treehouse whilst Teacher is not looking!!  Pop over to the link to see the plans we have submitted!!

Now then less than 24 hours after I was wearing my Butterfly frock I donned my old faithful (now way too big) dungarees, my chikkin' wellies and safety equipment to spend Sunday strimming around the garden, starting with the pathway to the Chicken Run (you can see the Run on the left hand side of the photo).  Yes, my arms were aching after a while but it did look sooo much better after I had finished. I even pulled up some of our spuds, which are a little late due to the fact that it has been raining every weekend I wanted to pull them. Never mind.  They do taste soo scrummy!
Thanks for popping by.  Don't forget to leave me a comment so I know you have been.

Love your batty Twinchie. Great take on the theme too. Just starting to glue mine all together with a bit of this and a bit of that. Did you hear that the ducks have gone quakers over the chickin coup and are demanding plans be drawn up for a duck house with a draw bridge if you please.!! Hugs Mrs A.
p.s. Miss is not going to recognise the place by the time she gets back.

Fabby twinchies Sam! I thought Autumn and Halloween go hand in hand.

Am trying to book a flight back immediately, have a nasty feeling that strimming was part of clearance work for the tree house - and that was in fact our wild flower meadow :)

Hugs, Di xx

I think Blogger was mad at us the other day because the same thing happened to me. AND I had been wordy. Well, next round I was not so wordy, so maybe that was just a way to censor me?!

Love all the texture on your twinchie bats. That Tim, he just keeps coming up with more and more technique.

Love your fancy outfit! Rocking the garden!

Ooh, your Twinchies are so cool! Love the shimmery sparkle and all the embossing!
That is quite a different outfit than the butterfly dress! But I suppose much more practical for the job!
