In To The Tin I Shall Dig....

Hello Friends

Sorry I have not been around to post any comments for the last few days.  I went away with some good Quilting friends of mine to Nottingham for the Quilter's Guild AGM which involved lots of giggling, eating, drinking, buying of fabrics, workshops for some and talks.  It was my first time and I really enjoyed it.  Fergus also enjoyed it and enjoyed all the fuss and attention he received!  Thanks to those lovely ladies I went with and Hello to all that I met there.  Special thanks also to June as she drove me there and back.  I also now know how to get into a Saab if the remote no longer works!  Amazing what you can pick up on a quilting weekend!

We did not get back until late yesterday so I did not get chance to go on the 'puter, let along post any photos of our lovely trip to Chatsworth House but I will try and share some with you later this week.  A beautiful house and well worth the journey.

So I thought today I would share a card which I made recently and was in my "drafts" for such time as I could share it with you.....
The "note paper" was cut on my Silhouette and the stamps are by Tim Holtz, Inkadinkado and Penny Black.   All the pieces have come from my Snippets box and the flower image, which I stamped using the watercolour technique using Distress Inks some time ago, came out of my "Tin".  I shall take this along to the Playground seeing as I used Snippets.  As the sun is out I shall have a go on the swings.   Anyone joining me?

Thanks for popping by and I shall try to catch up with you through the week!

Hugs

Hettie

Gorgeous card Sam - love the image and colours very much. Lucky you visiting Chatsworth, used to regularly go there caravanning (they have a Caravan Club Site in the former Victorian walled kitchen garden within the estate) and it's one of my fave places. Was the huge Emperor fountain running?

Hugs

The watercolour effect is so perfect for that stamp, quite a dreamy feel to it.

Ohhhh, lucky you viewing Chatsforth. I loved that place. We went there several years ago. Gorgeous house and grounds. I LOVED the country store and the gorgeous burlap Chatwsworth bag...long before burlap was in style here. We just watched a 3 or 4 part series on Chatsworth...it was great!
My sister (the 3 day eventer) has been to the horse trial there!

And now your card...that toen looking paper that you cut on the silhouette is fabulous at making this whole floral image card look a little T H grungy looking...LOVE it!

Gorgeous card, Hettie. Love the image and the delicate colours. The Quilters Guild - this will surprise you, I was one of the founder members way back in 1979! Can hardly believe it was that long ago. I'm sorry to say that I let my membership drop when my life took a few nasty turns in the late 80s. Lovely for you to meet up with fellow-quilters and to go to Chatsworth - a place we visited a few times while we lived in the High Peaks. It was a lovely drive over through the National Park to get there. And now you tell me you're off on another jaunt, to the Ally Pally, no less :) Have a wonderful weekend. Elizabeth xx
