Didn't We Have a Lovely Time.....

.....The Day We Went to Chatsworth?

Hello Peeps

Some of you may be aware that I have had a very busy social life the last two weekends, with last week in Nottingham for the Quilter's Guild AGM and this weekend with some Playground members at the BSSBS in London.  Just like buses, things come round in a group and then nowt for months so I tried to make the most of both whilst they were here.

Today I thought I would share some of the (many) photos I took of the weekend including the visit to Chatsworth House.  I have fallen head over heels for this place.  If you ever get chance to go there you must.  It is wonderful and a Quilter's paradise as you can see quilts in your mind's mind for ever!!  Haa Haa!  More about that later!

Pull up a chair as I guide you round....(you may want to get a cuppa or something stronger as this is a photo heavy post!)
Robin Hood and Maid Marion welcoming us to the Convention!  (He was actually a little late...he had a problem parking his car horse!)

Fergus listening intently to the opening ceremy.
The Clock Tower at Chatsworth (also the cafe and loos!).
My shadow!  It has been a while since I last saw this!

See what I mean about quilts everywhere!
Glad I am not catering for this lot!
A Hare for LLJ - cheeky thing asked me to pop it in my handbag!  It is about 7 or 8 ft high and probably weighs a ton!
This waterfall is fed by gravity!  Genius!
Again this is not powered by electrickery!
Had it been a little warmer I would have liked to have gone for a walk up here as it looks so peaceful.  Next time!

Altogether this was one beautiful house to visit and one that is on my list to go back to.  One of the few places where you are told you CAN take photographs!  What a great scrapportunity!

I am entering this post into Annie's Friday Smiles as these will give me smiles for a while to come yet.

Thanks for calling by.  See you on a Swing soon!

Hugs

Hettie

Looks like a great day out... In my dim and distant past I used to go to Chatsworth quite often (a Derbyshire boyfriend) so this is a lovely reminder of a wonderful place!

Your photos are gorgeous, Sam. Chatsworth was one of the first places we went when we first started "going out" so has special memories.
Glad you had two brilliant weekends and had a good time in the play ground. I have some jelly babies today which I'll share so can we be friends again...pleeeeeese.

Great photo's Sam. Really like the one of your shadow, it proves that the sun does shine sometimes.

Chatsworth is a lovely place and have enjoyed watching some great car rallies there.

Have a great Monday xx
