WOYWW 201 - Kind Of....

Hello Friends

I am late, I am late, for a very important date!!  Yes it is Wednesday so WOYWW and time for us to reveal our desks via the lovely Miss Julia!  Well kind of.  You see I am in the middle of something for a friend of mine and I don't want to risk her seeing it so I thought I would share something which has been on my desk until very recently and which could be on YOUR desks at The Crop II....

To give you an idea of scale....

And a close up.....
I am offering to have a little Lace Workshop at The Crop II on 1st June.  I will have a lace cushion with some lace on that ANYONE can have a go on (yes even you Jan!). However, I am willing to do a workshop for three peeps who would like to make this bookmark (I cannot do any more as I do not have enough cushions).  I will start the bookmark so that the hard part (starting off) is done, which will give you the chance to get it finished in time. I am not sure of the colours yet but there will be a choice!

If you would like to give Lace a go, relatively cheaply (£3 donation to Air Ambulance please) leave me a comment and if there are more than three I shall either see if I can "borrow" pillows or do a lucky dip!  Everyone can have a little go at Lace but we will be limited to the bookmark.

Thanks for calling by, now off to Blogland via Julia's desk to see other works of art in progress!

TTFN

Hettie

Love your lace, but I will pass as it is quite a tradition in our country so I will do a course at some point here - still I will be jumping around looking at what the ladies will be doing! I am just sooo nosey ha, ha...:-)
See you at Ally Pally!
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian

Oh that lace work looks amazing, I am hoping to come along even though I don't participate in WOYWW very often as it is less than 30 mins from me, I am not brave enough to try a whole bookmark but am looking forward to the chance to try lace work. Hugs, Amanda x

Passing on the lace workshop as you are the other side of the country from me and that's a bit far ;) But that is one beautiful bookmark. I have no idea how you did it. Watching something like this being made would be good, because I really can't figure out how it's done!
Happy Wednesday!

Ooh... That is gorgeous! My grandmother had a couple of lace pillows, which are now in my parents' attic, and I've been wanting to learn how to make lace... Unfortunately, I'm not going to the Crop II, since it's quite a ways to travel. Would you say that it is very difficult to learn? =)

Happy Wednesday!

Wish I could get to the crop cos I have 3 empty lace cushions and could certainly use the refresher on how to do it lol

I love it! Beautiful colors. Learning how to make lace has always appealed to me but seems like it requires a lot of patience. Something I am lacking a bit of. Lovely work.

Hi Sam
No WOYWW from me today. Easter hols are taking up my blogging time but I'm not complaining!!
Love your lace bookmark, how pretty and I bet it takes you ages.
I'm still in the air as to The Crop as something has come up. Will e-mail you later.

Nice try that girl!! It's not that I don't want to try, it's just that I ihave a busy day organising all the other stuff at the crop! But the bookmark is very pretty indeed and you are still a clever girlie for producing it :)

Hi Hettie!! The bookmark is lovely but I don't think my fat fingers could do anything that delicate. Will see you at the crop though. Happy WOYWW Cindy #63

Wow, this is my first time seeing your beautiful lace work, it is so pretty. Since I live in Canada, I won't be able to attend your workshop, boo hoo, but lucky to the ladies who will. You have a very special talent, and it is so kind of you to share it with others! I used to use a lot of lace when I made primitive raggedy annie's, but have set that aside for awhile to become a card maker. I have become your newest follower and I would just love it if you might like to become one of mine Hettie, Hugs, Cathryn

Hettie , your ace is beautiful. I'm not sure my finger coordination is good enough. The stitches are so delicate. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

How exciting...oh how I wish the crop was in August!!!
Will it take you long to commute to the crop or will you take a train?

I know so little about Wales and the south of England...I did look you up and had a giggle that we watched this Hotel at Breccon(sp) that was on Hotel Inspector...and I think you are somewhere in that area...

I hope you have buckets of fun at the crop and I will be thinking of you and your gorgeous lace!

That is beautiful!! How is the wedding garter coming? Or have I missed it?

I'm too far across the world to take your class...but oh, this is just the most beautiful creation. How talented you must be to create something so intricate & lovely. Have fun at your class! TFS

You are so generous, Hettie, to make this offer of a class on your brilliant lace bookmark. Would that I lived nearby to accept! Have a wonderful week! Darnell #47

Thanks for stopping by this week Hattie. I’m sorry it’s taken my so long to make a return visit but just not felt much like spending time on the computer up till now. But I’m on the mend now and ‘ready to party’.

Oh wow, that's beautiful! If only I were closer and could come to the crop because I’ve always wanted to have a go at lace making. I brought a (DRAD?) kit donkey’s years ago to give it a try but to be honest I really needed someone to physically show me what to do and I didn’t get on with it very well..
Happy Crafting!
