Lesley's Birthday Card

Hello Buddies

Gosh!  Wednesday already!!  How did that happen?  Happy Hump Day Everyone.

Today I thought I would share a card I made for a friend of mine last week.  It seems very apt colourwise for the Autumn kinda day we are having today.  Lesley is a fan of oranges and yellows hence the colourway.

It was made using a Sweet Poppy stencil, first colouring it with DIs then removing the stencil to dry the inks before repositioning it carefully and using clear paste as you normally do.
Once you have lifted the stencil VERY carefully, without dropping or smudging it and carefully placing it into a handy bowl of water, get your clear fine microbeads and pour them over.  These microbeads are swines terrible for getting everywhere!  I mean everywhere.   Leave to dry overnight WITHOUT picking at it to see if they are dry yet.
But the effect is awesome!  Especially in the sunshine.  Top tip - do all your edges etc before you attach the beads cos the little blighters beads get in your punches!
The finishing touches were added, a strip of Snippet card punched with EK Success punch, another piece layered on top.  Punched butterflies - again using Snippets, and some fluff.  The Friends sentiment was kindly sent to me some time ago.  Voila - pwetty card finished and Lesley LOVES it!

Thanks for calling by.  Isn't it nice to see the little kiddiewinks going back to school!!  Though I wish more peeps would walk their kids to school to prevent the queues!

Wow this is gorgeous, so sparkly too and makes me want to take a long walk in a wood with the leaves falling and crunching underneath my feet, isn't it strange how an image evokes such a clear picture. Hugs, Amanda x

Fabulous card Sam - it really is an Autumn one and such great colours. Bravo with the micro beads - they do get everywhere don't they? :) But so worth it for the great result.

Like your new colours on the blog too!

The clarity of the stencil design is incredible and surely takes some skill.
Gorgeous colours, so warming.
A very beautiful card to say the very least.

Loving those colours on the card. Rather you than me with those beads. Miss has given me some to play with but they are staying in the pot! Hugs Mrs A.

Hi there...from the bleary eyed in Canada...

I threw caution to the wind and joked about Mr Scrappymo having a rougher time than I did with the jet lag...well...that was very silly of me!!! It hit me later than him and seems to have permanently parked with us!

We are both still dragging our butts about and fighting jet lag! Ugggh.

I have been leaving comments at weird hours when I can't sleep but not creating much or facing the daunting task of unloading realms of photos!

Today I went to the geek squad to learn a faster way to download in Windows 8 so will try it tomorrow night. Kiddos started school so had a couple days of walking back and forth to school but just for partial days...full time starts next week for little Mr P so 6 trips up and back to the school at the mo. yes we walk to and from, as I don't drive...it is also a good way to teach the kids that it is possible to accomplish tasks by walking to do them!

We have got the gardens basically caught up here from our absence and the main floor of the house cleaned from a month of dust bunnies etc. Now it is on to the upstairs and then window cleaning in and out before the cold weather arrives.

So we have been busy just not in blog land. Tomorrow I hope to get a couple of cards finished up as I need to get thank you cards in the mail and will finally have something to post.

This card for your girlfriend has such a lovely feeling of fall. The colours are scrumptious and the micro beads were a great idea! I laughed at your "hints" about punching first as I can just imagine the little blighters getting stuck in the punches!

Oh...almost forgot to tell yo that the punched corners looks great!
Off to catch up on your other posts that I have missed...
