WOYWW # 97 - Messy Desk Again Ladies!!

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Wow - Wednesday has come around pretty quickly even if my week has been topsy turvy for me since having my knee operated on last week.

Things in my Craft Room have been a little slow partly due to the stairs being an issue and having to keep my feet up (with the aid of those Very Useful Boxes!).  My mojo has gone for a holiday and I have the attention span of a fly at the moment!  Never mind, I am sure when I am up and about properly I will be able to spend some more time in here.

On the plus side, I have been able to go around some fantastic desks the last few days and instead of flying visits I have been able to stop and have a real snoop!  There are some fantastic desks out there in the blog world.

Here is mine at the moment....
There are actually two projects on the go on my desk at the moment.  It is Hubby's birthday on Saturday and I am trying to make him a mini book with quotes however, when I came up here yesterday he kept popping in and I don't know what, if anything, he saw.  He is a Bee Keeper and the book will have lots of Bee quotes in there and of course some bees which I have stamped using Jo Capper-Sandon's stamp and then painted with DIs and my water pen and the wings have been painted with perfect pearls and the water pen.
Also on the desk is a work in progress which I am not sure at the moment whether it is going into the Grungy Monday challenge or Hels' Sheridan's challenge.  It is a canvas board which I have embossed a Stampington Papillion stamp with clear embossing powder and then sprayed colour wash in two shades.  More of that later this week.
I also want to show you some fabulous ribbons which arrived on Monday from The Ribbon Girl.  I came across this site on a blog a few weeks ago and then lost the note I made of the site. Doh!  However, I came across the site again last week and placed an order.  I must say that I was really impressed by how quickly the order came through and the sheer quality of the goodies.  I have been looking for some time for a supplier of Bakers Twine in the UK hence why I noted this site.  The green sheer ribbon is absolutely lush and I now NEED some more in some of the other colours.  Oh! another thing - they accept Mr Paypal so no having to rummage around looking for your debit card!!  Always a plus with suppliers!
Well, off now to drink my cuppa tea whilst straining it through my teeth 'cos the t-bag broke - yuk!  If you want to know what on earth this posting is about pop along to Julia's blog by clicking HERE and you will be whisked along to her site by broomstick, and where you will see lots of other mad crafters who show their desks on a Wednesday!!

Before I do go I would just like to say a huge Thank you to all you lovely bloggers who have been kind enough to leave messages of best wishes for my recent operation.  These messages have lifted me and made me smile every time I receive on.  Thanks to you all.  It has been wonderful to recieve messages from around the world!!

Bye for now.

Hettie

You've certainly got lots happening on your desk, Hettie, despite being incapacitated. I love the idea of the quote book for DH. I'm sure he'll love it.
I hope you are soon up and about again and then your mojo will come rushing back with all that new energy!
Take care of yourself.

Lots of stuff going on here even if you aren't fully into at the moment. I do hope your knee is healing quickly! I really like your butterfly canvas, what I can see of it, the color wash sprays have made a gorgeous background!
Thanks for the visit earlier!
Oh and I have not managed (in a week, shame on me) to get any chipboard for the album project but if you do a tutorial still I would love to see!

Busy desk even if you are not fully able at the moment - hope the knee heal soon so you can do all you want to - the flowers I made were for a card and I always make a few extra and keep in my embellishment box

So glad to see you are back and on the road to recovery. I am sure the crafting will be a good recovery therapy. Make sure everyone looks after you well. That blue canvas looks fascinating.
