NBUS Birthday Card

Hello there

I know, I know, I have been a very bad blogger lately.  My blog has been badly neglected, save for my Friday Funny posts.  I have visited a few of you, but time has simply been running way ahead of me lately, but hopefully the lure of working outside will not be so strong now as the nights are drawing in and it is getting a little on the cool side now.

I wanted to share my Christening cards I made recently, but I appear to have lost the photos.  Shame as they were gorgeous.  For one of the cards I used the same stamps as this card (well it seemed a shame to put them out too soon!) so I guess I can stretch the NBUS rule as this was only the second time I used them.....

The Lilies are Sheena Douglass stamps that I bought AGES ago and not used them - shame on me.  This was also the first time I used my new Abandoned Coral DI which I LOVE!!!    I inked up the stamp with Versamark and WOW white embossing powder.  I then used Abandoned Coral  and inked the background.  Spritzed and flicked some water, trimmed and adhered to the front of the card.  I needed a little white so used a MB die cut that was in the Tin of Shame.  I used some Snippets to stamp the HB and inked up again, Can you see it is different card as it is darker?  I mounted this on to a slightly larger piece of white snippet having first tied a little ribbon around the card.

Some pearls spotted around and there you have my card.  I do love this colour and those stamps are not going to be back in their packet for long!!

Right then....off to join in on the following Challenges!

Thank you for calling by.  Please leave me a comment so I know you have been.

I love , love the colour and the flower embossed in the white is so delicate.
I'm guilty of the dame problem. The lure of outside versus inside.
still it's raining for the forseeable future so commenting here i come. Hugs Mrs A.

That is gorgeous!!! Don't let on to my OH but I still have many stamps that are NBUS, trying my best to work my way through them though, lol! As per my self imposed paper ban I'm on a self imposed ink pad ban too lol! Loving that coral, as well as the pistachio, mermaid, twisted citron and that really wonderful purple, but trying not to buy any more ink pads until I use the two drawers full of them. Loving that die cut too, hope you have a good week and get to play again soon, summer went way too quick Karen x

Hettie, thanks for your visit over to Brenda's...so very kind of you. And I'm loving this gorgeous NBUS (which I'm struggling to get something in, before closing time tomorrow!) I hear you about the time getting away, and of course, other things frequently have to take priority. Sometimes we just have to remember what is really important in our lives, and hope our blog buddies understand. The background color on this pretty works splendid with the white flowers. And adding in the die cut lacy sprigs over the gorgeous flowers created so much interesting dimension. Love the darker tones on the sentiment, and the white bow and gleaming pearls. TFS & Hugs. (and our weather is just getting nice enough for me to consider being outside in the late afternoon sunlight, when it's not hot, and I can get motivated to do a little yard work! Not too much, though. My Lazy has gotten in the way of that).

Well, I am guilty of being too busy with life outside of blogging too!!! You are right about the time of year...I am always a better blogger and commenter in the late fall and winter months.

Your card is so pretty. I like the way you stamped the flowers ynder the die cut. Very pretty indeed.
Off to have a wee catch up on your blog. I am so behind...my blogger reader is not coming up on my blog...I have to go in a retrieve blogs to read! Need my youngest daughter to lend a hand sorting it out!

This is breathtaking, Sam! It's elegant to the max and I hope the recipient has the sense to frame it and hang it!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #5 ~ which was so long ago now! I’m sorry that nursing the Mister back to good health has delayed my visit to thank you, but I know you understand. Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell
