Get Well Hammy!

Hello there

Well, that bank holiday weekend went quickly, but it was a good one for me.  Hope yours was too.

Saturday saw me at our monthly quilting meeting.  When I got home Mr Hettie was pottering outside so I had a sneaky hour working on my Amsterdam album!!  Well, why not?

Sunday was spent pottering in the garden, painting the love seat with my usual feathered supervisors on standby.  Today I put another coat of paint on the underside of the seat and started prepping my Adirondack chair ready for it to be painted.  Spent the afternoon making some Christmas cards for Rudolph Day.  I will share them later in the week.

Right then.  Onto today's post.

A very good fellow Snippets Playmate had some lovely stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn that I fell in love with.  You see there is a family story about a hamster called Hammy that lived on the bookcase (in his cage of course!), at the bottom of our stairs.  I was too little to have anything to do with it, and he belonged to my big Sister and Brother.  Apparently they were not very good at looking after him, and he had been dead for two weeks before they noticed!!!  Hence I was never allowed to have my rabbit and had to wait until I was married!!

So onto this stamp set and dies.  I knew I wanted to get hold of it, searched UK retailers but no luck.  So I went directly to Lawn Fawn and blow me, I could order it and pay using Paypal without having to set up yet another account and in super quick time it arrived!!  So I had to use it....

My poor friend was not very well, and in one of the texts she sent me, she told me that her glands were swollen and that she looked like a hamster....hence a card was born!!

Here it is with the envelope.  All coloured in with Copics.  I used Snippets of card to stamp and die cut.  Rachel loved the card or was it the Carte D'or Eaton Mess ice-cream I took up, for medicinal purposes only.

I also wanted to show you how my package was sent...
The papers were free and that bakers twine is gorgeous.  There was even a small stamp enclosed.
I would definitely order from Lawn Fawn again...their prices are very reasonable, great quality and postage from US to UK was very good.

Off to play in the Snippets Playground to see what has been occurring over the weekend.

Thanks for calling by.

What a sad story about poor Hammy's demise Hettie! This is such an adorable card, that just makes me want to smile! As to UK retailers for Lawn Fawn stamp sets, I don't know if you have come across it yet, but there is a marvellous on-line store that has a lot of the US manufacturer's supplies and Lawn Fawn is just one of them! There is a large selection too and fast delivery and great service. It is 'Make The Day Special' Hope that helps. Hazel xx

Sorry about your childhood hamster episode, but hammy is alive and well on this adorable card! I love Lawn Fawn's way of doing business, and they always enclose a useful little stamp with a few papers in every order! I think your card and envie are stinkin' cute :)

Adorable card Sam! I do so love the little hamster in his wheel - but felt so sad about the demise of the one when you were a child :(

I love Lawn Fawn - and as already pointed out, Laney's shop here in the UK (Make the Day Special) is also very good! I've used both and have always been really happy too.

Hugs

Well, there's a little fellow here that's very sad right now. When I saw the title, I got becited and Hammy climbed up onto my shoulder to read along. We weren't expecting the bit about the death of your family hamster, which you may not know is my Hammy's cousin tenth removed on his sister's husband's nephew's side. And let me tell you, the story of how that branch of the family came to arrive in America is worthy of a novello!! I've sent him off to call Monique, which will take his mind off it and give me a chance to tell you how much I love your get well card for your swollen friend! She will adore it, envie and all!! Well done!! I'm hoping to see you soon behind the bike shed. I've got treats. Hugs, Darnell

Love that story, Sam. Poor Hammy Hamster. No wonder you needed those stamps and perfect for your friend too. Love the card.
The weekend flew by didn't it but at least the weather was kind so lots of outdoor time.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

OMGee I just saw what Darnell wrote, lol, you ladies are so good for the soul and for me - you make me laugh a lot lol! I didn't want to say anything about your Hammy cos I wanted one too when I was younger and my mum never really liked us having pets. BTW I also want Meer Cats, guinea pigs, cats, kittens and chickens lol! I would have a home zoo if I could lol Karen xx
