Pre Rudolph Day and Snippets

Good Evening Peeps

Brrr! Is it me or is it cold tonight?  I wish this weather would make it's mind up just what it is going to do - at one point today I was outside with my coat undone and now I am finding it really cold!  One or t'other please Mr Weather!!

You may recall that earlier this month I declared that along with my good Buddy Sandra, we were going to make 10 Christmas things (cards or tags) by Rudolph Day i.e. 25th of each month.  Would you believe I have actually made a start?  I may possibly not be up to 10 by Wednesday but I have made a go and have my Christmas Snippets box out, having not put it at the bottom of the stack of boxes at the beginning of this month.

Here is no. 1 card for Christmas 2012........

And here is no. 2 card for Christmas 2012.....

The stamping and some of the colouring in were actually done ready for last Christmas but as usual I ran out of time so didn't get to finish them off.  I have now!  The sentiment on the first card were from a scrapbooking set I bought about 4/5 years ago and now I am just trying to find uses for the remaining stickers so I adhered this one to a piece of (scrap) card and then ran it through my Big Shot with a Nestie die and then embossed the edge using the technique Sandra did on THIS post.  I get better results embossing Nesties (hear me talking as if I have several sets - I only have one called Billy!) this way rather than trying to faff with rubber and shims and stuff.  Thanks Buddy.

The lamppost is one of Tim's which I also made before Christmas to use on Christmas cards but they were in my pot waiting to be used.  However they are a bit big for this size card so I trimmed off the bottom piece, then decided it looked "odd" so adhered the bottom piece back over the top and hey presto a shrunken chicken sized street lamp!  On the first card I tried out my new Scor-it which my very kind Mum-in-Law bought me for Christmas.  Another pink tool for me to learn how to use!  Not bad for a first attempt me finks!

I declare that no whole pieces of cardstock or paper have been harmed in the making of these cards so  I will be joining these into Di's lovely bunch of crafters who are, like me, using their snippets to craft with.  Feel free to join us.
