WOYWW 136 - Still relatively tidy folks!!

Hello there Peeps.

It is Wednesday, so that means it is WOYWW day with the lovely Julia Dunnitt. For those of you who still don't know what this means, then I will give you a quick resume.

1   Take a photo of your workspace, be it a desk, dining or kitchen table, floor, bed, lap - anywhere you are currently working on a project.

2   Post said picture on your blog.

3   Link your posting on your blog to Julia's blog HERE.

4   Go on a worldwide official nosey at other likeminded WOYWWers' desks and don't forget to leave them comments.

5   Enjoy and wonder what you ever did on Wednesdays (or Thursdays if you cannot visit them all on a Wednesday) before you discovered WOYWW!!

Here is my desk.......
Believe it or not it is still relatively tidy.  The cards you can see are the ones I completed last night for the Snippets Challenge with the lovely Di, who holds the playground keys.   Feel free to join in the fun and frolics of using up your Snippets!
Here you can see my desk is being skillfully supervised by my lovely Monkey.  In case you are wondering about the lilac card next to him, that was made by my good friend Angela some time ago.  The card is a little reminder of the good times we had before she was taken away from her family and friends.  I cannot seem to get round to putting the card away so why not have it where I can see it when I stop with my cuppa!

The white bits of card that Monkey is holding up are pieces of watercolour paper which I could not bear to throw away when I was making my Christmas cards and am slowly using up with my Snippets Challenges.  As you may just about see, I have stamped and coloured a piece already for a card.  I think that might be Val's Birthday card which is coming up!

Right, that is is from me today.  Don't forget to pop by the lovely Julia's desk and see some of the other WOYWWers' desks.

The lilac card caught my eye straight away, it's lovely and obviously of great importance to you. Little things mean a lot sometimes..

It is good to have memories of good friends around us while we work. I have also been busy with the Snippets Challenge, and I have got such a buzz from using stuff I did not know I had. I shall be making more bread tomorrow, so I will post it then, Sam. I have a breadmaker, but have not used it for some time. I just let my trusty old Kenwood do the hard work, then I give it a bit of a bash around by hand. The results are great.

I have one of my students art shirts over the back of my studio chair. She has been gone for 2,5 years now and I still can't seem to take it away...these things are some how comforting. Nice little reminders of the times we had. Great desk by the way!

Hi Sam. On some blogs I only seem to be able to comment by hitting the reply button - not sure what's going on though! You asked about rocker blocks - they've taken some getting used to but I love them now. The main thing for me is to stand while I stamp, place one edge firmly on the paper (with stamps already on the block of course) and then to roll the block firmly right the way to the other side, once only, before removing it.

Love your crafting monkey and thanks for the snippets mention honey :)

Hi there love the cards and monkey. Also like the teapot card - a lovely idea to keep it there. In the room where my craftspace is I have a hat that was my dad's - I bought it for him and mum gave it to me after he died. I like seeing it there and remembering him wearing it. Thanks for visiting my blo. Anne x

Hi Sam
Your cards are looking gorgeous and I think it's perfect that you have your friends card on permanent display. It's a lovely reminder!!
Monkey seems to be doing a very good job of looking after everything.
Thanks for your visit. I agree that we should definitely make a thing of sharing our Christmas cakes nexy year. I love to see what other people do and I'm not sure about heat on the glass mat. It does say you can use a hot glue gun but nothing about a heat too. I've had a gentle go and apart from some condensation (it was a bit chilly with no heat on yesterday though) it didn't seem to do it any harm. I like the fact that you can cut on it and then use distress inks without having to change mats but that's just my preference. I tend to hold whatever I'm heating generally or have a little cork mat that works brilliantly for little things and doesn't take up any room.
Happy WOYWW

I like the idea of a snippets challenge. I pile up my snippets on a corner of my desk (like I'm sure we all do). I rarely think to dig back through them. Every once in awhile I stick them in an envelope and mail them to a friend. She thinks they are the bee's knees so that's good. But maybe I should try to actually use them a little.

I don't come very near crying these days (anti-depressants) but your friend's card sitting there brought me to tears.

Well H, it's Friday night, so it's now taking me three days!!! No less fun though. Funny, I have a small keepsake on my Hall stand that really should be put away, but it bears a wonderful photo of our dr lost friend and I quite like to see him there! Get you using up the snips, how horribly impressive!!!!

By the time we have all got busy with the Snippets Challenge and the Use it Up in 2012, we should all have emptied our craft rooms ready for any new stuff we really need. By the way, I have just posted some bread especially for you as you asked. Enjoy. Maggie #105

I keep the tiniest bit of scrap imaginable with the thought that I'll do something with it one day! Such an incredible mess in all honesty! Love the thought that your friends card stays on your desk so you think of her often, that's a good thing I think. Running so late this week it's almost time to start again!
