T on Tuesday

Helloooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

How are you doing my lovely friends!!  As you may sense, I am feeling so much better this morning. Still have pain but it is getting a little easier to cope with and I feel a bit more like my usual self.  Yesterday I had a very very VERY long soak in the bath and it seems to have done me the world of good.

Whilst I was in the bath, my Darling Hubby sneaked in my craft room and put the heaters on and told me to stay in there for an hour to have some "me" time.  I have recently been catching up on some videos that I had saved to watch including one from Leandra of Paperartsy in which she shared how to make backgrounds with paint and brayers.

I don't know about you, but I have a bit of a fear of the old brayer on account of not having much luck with it.  So, I took it by the horns, grabbed some paints and created a background page for a layout.  I don't know whether it was my subconscious or what, but the colours seem to lend itself to adding the photos from the accident, which Hubby took on his mobile phone.  We shall see.  First thing was to let it dry.

So today I have come into my room, plonked my cuppa tea next to it, and thought I would share this page with you and Elizabeth for Tea on Tuesday

Here is a close up of my super cute mug which is pre-marriage and was bought for me by my much older sister.  The tea of choice is Glengettie, which is a Welsh blend of tea...kind of a breakfast tea with a bit more oompf in it!!

Thanks for calling by and reading my ramble.  I especially want to say Thank You to Heather, Maarit and Lesley for becoming my latest followers.  I noticed you have joined me recently, but have been very remiss in not thanking you, so I hope I have made up for this now.

Have a good day everyone!!

Hettie

So glad you are feeling better, Sam, and glad you felt good enough to join us. You've been missed!

Not sure how you got your brayer to create that background, but it is simply INCREDIBLE. I love the lines you got. Grunge and perfect for the accident that you were able to "walk" away from.

I confess I've never heard of Glengettie tea before, but it rhymes with your nickname, so I like and can remember and look for it at my tea shop.

Thanks for joining us for T this Tuesday with your grunge background and your darling tea mug, too. Heal quickly, please!

BTW, I may change your saying about being crafty to "I recycled before recycling was cool." I like that sign.

How kind of your Hubby - the world needs more men like that! Glad you were able to have a fun time in your craft room. I have never heard of Glengettie tea either, although I come from England, enjoy it in your fun cup. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie

Do you "know" Chris (pearshapedcrafting)? You might even know her in person, since I think the two of you did a WOWYWW crop together last year. Please ask her for my address and tell her I gave you permission to ask, since I keep getting the e-mail I sent with my address bounced back to me.

Glad you are feeling better! What a sweet hubby you have. I have not tried the brayer background technique yet. I think I am a little scared of it, too. I like how yours turned out, though.
Cute frog cup. Happy T-Day! :)

Good for you on every score, Sam! You are feeling much better, which is the main thing AND you broke that brayer into submission under your artistic hand, AND you have excellent taste in tea mug decor!! Mwah!! (I have to say I'd be honored to be a namesake!!) Hugs, Darnell

Wahoo . . . well done hubby for putting the heaters on and allowing you some therapeutic "me time". You've really created a lovely piece of inked/painted up brayered artwork there Sam. I'm still not talking to my brayer!

Lovely froggie mug too mate.

Keep on being kind to yourself and healing up good 'n' proper.

Gentle hugs from Sarn xxx

Well your paint works looks good to me, never used a brayer and have no intentions of starting now, would frighten me to death. Lovely mug.
Glad to hear that you are feeling a lot better and I thought you were going to say that while you were in the bath Darling Hubby sneaked in with you, thought it was more than we really needed to know!

Ooh Sam, that looks fab! Gorgeous & grungy, right up my street! Rebecca & me got ourselves a brayer a couple weeks ago, just not brave enough to share anything yet lol. So glad you're feeling better & have even managed some crafty time, hubby sounds like a gem! Tea on Tuesday sounds fun although I have to admit I've never heard of Glengettie! Sending you gentle hugs.

Glad to hear you sounding more like yourself - and good for hubby with the heaters and the me-time!

It's certainly a background with great drama and a dark heart - I can imagine it might well suit the accident photos - but it's going to be a disturbing piece if so - but maybe therapeutic.

Enjoy your froggy tea xx

Hi Sam, I'm glad you're on the mend. What a sweet hubby you have! He knows what you need!
Your brayered page looks great. Will we get to see the photos? (Do we want to see the photos?)
Thank you for sharing your lovely mug with us. I'm drinking a Chai Latte at the moment, it's a lovely bed-time drink.
Thank you for visiting earlier. Sorry for the late comment, I've been out all day.
Happy T-day,
Lisca

Oh Hettie! I didn't know you had been in an accident - glad you are (sort of) OK. Watching Leandra must have been a good way to help you recover! Love the braying, err…accident photos…not sure…!!!! I can't say I like your mug I'm afraid, I just do not like froggies!! Hope the bruises don't hurt for too long! Happy T Day, Chrisx

Sorry to read that you had an accident.
Your hubby, what a lovely man to point you in the direction of your art room for "me" time. Brayers are a fabulous tool, I'm sure you won't look back now.
Yikes! I have a serious issue with F$%Gs!!!! Thankfully this was a cartoon version otherwise you might have had to pick me up, off the floor!

I'm so sorry to hear of your terrible accident, but thank goodness you weren't more seriously injured! How thoughtful of your husband to give you that special time for yourself! It looks like a special cut of tea in a very special mug is on the menu! Take care!

Your background looks great and I love the tea cup. I don't have a lot of experience with the brayer either and it intimidates me too.

Love the way your background turned out. It has a great masculine feel. I think it looks perfect for your scrapbook plans for the accident page.

Well done you!

So glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better now Hettie. I think a good long soak helps with lots of things.

It looks as if you've been having fun in the craft room with that brayer. Will wait to see how it turns out. Love you frog mug. What a lovely present that was from your sister. A present you can enjoy over and over. Take care. Barbxx

Glad you a recovering from that car accident. I've never been by your blog and so I had to skip back a few posts to get to know you a bit. Wow- sounds like that accident was serious. I love your page...I don't think you need to fear the brayer. I love your page. Nice cup too. It might be old but it is a good one. Hope it is a great day so far!

You brayered (is that a word?) a really cool background, and I am glad you shared it on T Tuesday.

I went back and caught up with a few of your posts and extend my condolences over the loss of your Mom. I was in a similar car accident many years ago-T boned into the driver's side by a pick up truck (I was the driver)and I still remember that "all over" pain. Hope you continue to improve quickly!

Thank you for visiting my page and for your kind words on my anniversary quilt. Sometimes, I am very critical, but I know you are right that once it is all put together, no one will be looking at the individual stitches.

Hi there! I'm late getting back around for T-day visits, thank you for the lovely comment you left me. It has been a while since our paths have crossed, so sorry to hear you were in a car accident.
I have a brayer, hidden away some where, now your background has inspired me to dig it out and have some play time.

Hi Sam,
sounds like your on the mend now thank goodness.
What a wonderful and considerate hubby you have to put the heater on ready for you in your craft room.

Your Background looks good, and wonderful bit of inking too.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Glengettie Tea I remember that was superb tea and it made such a wonderful cuppa.
Must buy some next time I'm in Wales.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours, but gentle hugs just in case.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better, Hettie. It's amazing what having a good long soak can do, it seems to wash away troubles sometimes. Sounds like you are brighter too. Continue on the up, 2016 can only get better.
Your background looks amazing, I've got a brayer that's hardly seen the light of day too, I might have to look that video up. Enjoy your gentle crafting and that good strong cuppa.
My Ladies really enjoyed the card we made last night, I will share it on my blog. I made it background based which seems to work a treat because they can just play and it doesn't matter how their card turns out, they all look good. We have a real mix of crafting abilities.
Enjoy the weekend
Hugs Lisa xx

Ah dear Sam must confess had a tear thinking of your darling dads thoughtfulness what a gem, and just used some arnica tonight. Another excellent bath tub item is Epsom salts, perfect for sore muscles as its the magnesium in it that's beneficial. Here you find it with bath items as well as garden dept of stores and they work a treat... have used both.
Lord bless and heal you dear Sam, heart body and soul, been a it of a rough trot for you dear friend,
Hugs,

Ps love the brayer myself. Light touch on the rolling is key for good brayering, most folks use too much oomph. :)
