Scrapbooking Tuesday - Bring me Sunshine

Hello Friends

Welcome to another Tuesday here on Planet Earth.  As I usually try to achieve on a Tuesday, I have some scrapbooking which I would like to share with you.

This layout came about due to Mr Hettie's Godfather visiting my MIL and bringing with him a shoebox full of old photos that he had and wanted MIL to tell him, if she could, who some of the people were.  Mr Godfather's parents and most of his older members of the family having now passed away, he wanted to know before it was too late. MIL sent the photos over with Mr Hettie for me to see as she knew I would be interested, and in there was this photo......

It was taken at Mr Hettie's cousin's wedding in August 1990.  I had never seen it before.  On seeing it I could not help but sing "Bring Me Sunshine" to myself and new I had to sit down and scrap it.  So here is what I did.......

Having cropped the photo and changing it to black and white I pulled out some of my MME The Sweetest Thing papers (must get myself another set of these as I love them so much), some Bo Bunny papers and Echo Park.  I used my TH rosette die and made some "sunflowers" and pulled out yellow and orange flowers.  Then came the procraftinating!

This large yellow flower is the last of a collection that my friend brought home from France for me - Boo hoo!.  The large orange one is a Bazzill one that has been in my stash for years and years........  the paper ones are various makes.  Who could resist using a Giggle tag.
I stencilled using some Glimmer Mist sprays and Gathered Twigs DI.  Another Distressed Doily cut out.  The bling swirlies I bought in Cornwall about 4-5 years ago and have been waiting to use them on a "special" project.
I liked and kept the dash of pink flowers on the paper without covering them as the colour theme was dusky pink.  A clock to show the passage of time, cut using Snippets, some more misting with stencil and another sunflower.
I just love this little fairy house.  It was a mould I bought on a well known auction site, and I used some Martha Stewart paper clay in there for the first time.  It is great stuff and so lightweight.  Takes DI great, with a little Treasured Gold on the top.  The paper says "One of a kind" so I altered it to Two of a kind!  This flower ribbon was in with my ATC from my PIF sender.  Gorgeous isn't it?  You can also see some stamping I have done using a TH and Penny Black stamp.

I cut the letters for the main word using the Echo Park paper and added orange stickles over the top.  The word "bring" was stamped on a near to hand Snippet.  "Me" was on the back of the Echo Park paper.  I stamped the bees on some more Snippets and coloured them in using Copics and stickles.

Thanks for calling by.  I shall be showing this off in the Playground if you would care to call by and see it!  I am also going to enter this into Simon Says Stamp as the theme is "Anything Goes"!  My lovely friend Alison has just told me I can enter this into Our Creative Corner too!  This is a new Challenge for me so wish me luck!

I love your title, Sam, very appropriate. It's really hard using stash when it's precious isn't it. I've found that taking apart sprays of silk flowers is a great way of finding unusual flowers for scrapping as they tend to be a bit bigger.
Love all the detail on your LO.

Love the photo in B&W and your wonderful splashes of colour. The sprays and stencils are stunning. Sam where did the chicken wire stencil come from? I love it and need it, a really great title, some perfect scrapping! Karen
