Mummy and Daddy's Diamond Anniversary

Hello my Lovelies!

My Wonderful parents celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary a couple of weeks ago and I had a little spark of an idea for the card I wanted to make.  When I saw my lovely Buddy's card for her friend's 25th I just knew it was the right idea.  So without further ado here is the card I made for my parents.....

This photo is one of my favourites of their wedding.  I scanned it from the little album that were given to their parents.  I have my Grandad's album...lucky me!!

A close up of the sparkly die cuts.  Can you tell I had great fun making this card?

Side view with another photo.  The box base I cut using my Silhouette so that I could have fancy edges.

And now one showing the happy Lovebirds cutting their cake.  I am telling you, I have never used so many blingies on one card!!

Top view.  I wanted to ensure that the bits looked as good from the front as the back so I adhered another shape to the back.
I used a few Snippets and had to raid the Christmas Snippets basket as I ran out of the silver.  Luckily I managed to find a few more bits.
Here is the card folded.

And now the other folded side.

This card took me several hours to make and all the time I was giggling as it was so much fun.  My parents loved it and my Dad, ever the engineer kept looking to see how I made it!!

I am going to sneak this into the Butterfly Challenge - K is for Knot...well the were tying the knot after all!!

I am also going to skip over to the Cuttlemania Challenge as there isn't a square in sight!!

Off to the Snippets Playground now to have a play and see if there is any choklit behind the bike shed!!  See you there!!

Hettie

Stunning!!! I can hear the wolf whistles as this beautiful creation walks down the cat walk. I bet your parents loved it - because it is so obvious how much love went into creating it. Clever girly you are Karen x

I like your thinking (outside of the box )and certainly will allow it. The photo's around the outside are a lovely idea and really show off the celebration. Clever you. Would have taken me a darn sight more than a few hours to compete.
Now about this conker contest. I can give you good odds if you slip a little of that best malt whisky of yours behind the compost heap. I shall be along shortly.
Hugs Mrs A.

Wow Sam - stunning work! I remember showing you how to make a basic box/pop-up card but you've taken it to new heights here. No wonder you parents were delighted - it sparkles like crazy and is a real diamond of a card!

BTW, I can see you in your Mum's face - deffo. a likeness there!

Hi Sam . . . WOW - this is stunning. LOVE all the elements you used, especially personalising it with the photo's.

We have a conker contest going on behind the bike shed this week, and Mrs A is the bookie. Always choklit there too of course!

This is completely wonderful! What a perfect way to commemorate a special occasion for two much-loved parents. The photos are so lovely, and what an inspired idea to make them part of the box, and then all the sparkly elements popping out of the top - they will treasure this, I've no doubt. Brilliant!

This is truly a labor of love. I always enjoy old family pictures, and what a better showcase could you have for the wedding photos than on this card for their 60th (and Big congratulations to them, also. That's impressive in today's world). I loved all the glimmer & edge trimming and the little glittery popups. I've yet to make one of these box cards, so I'm very impressed with your work. Also it happens to be a lovely & most thoughtful way to celebrate such a special milestone for your dear parents. TFS & Hugs (oh yes, I liked your knot logic too!)
