Sealed with a Kiss....Layout

Hello there

I have to apologise to my blog for neglecting it for the last few days.  I have been a little under the weather with the lurgy after someone very kindly coughed and sneezed on me last week.  I came home from my Quilting Group on Saturday feeling dreadful and got generally worse.  I am not going into details ok, but I did not get out of bed much until today.  Though I did have a shock when the person concerned phoned me yesterday to apologise!!!

Anyway, a few weeks ago I promised to share with you a little layout I had done so here it is...

This is most probably the last layout of my Wedding Album, but note I only said "probably"!!  I have so many photos left still!

So where do I start?  The background piece is a piece of black cardstock and I took some of my stencils, my old white ink pad and an inkie paddie thing (can't remember what you call them now...made by that Tim chappie!) and swooshed some ink through the stencils, one of which is a NBUS bought from US by Memory Box...the one with butterflies on.

The die cuts are a mixture of some that were kindly sent to me by my Buddy over the water and some from my Tin of Shame.  The TH clock one was originally a wishy washy beige colour when I started.  I smooshed some TH DIs Tea Dye, Gathered Twigs, Brushed Cord, and then rubbed some Treasured gold wax on top.

The PPs are bits left over from previous layouts so Snippets...yeay!!  The corrugated card is from a package that had arrived a few days before (again inked with some DIs as above.

I put the little birdies on top as a nod to the pair of seagulls we kept seeing on Guernsey where we got engaged.  Now THAT is another story and why there are two seagulls in our bathroom!!
Now the flowers.  The one at the bottom of the clock and the others like it are NBUS and by Prima.  I only used a few as they are soooo nice.  Can you see the little seeds popping out from behind the flower towards my arm?  There are a few of these dotted around and they came out of my Happy Post I received just before Christmas, along with the sparkly heart...Thanks again my Friend.

The other flowers were made up from flowers in my stash, brads in the middle, some of which are years old, sprayed with Glimmer Mists, Perfect Pearls, layered and scrunched up.
The MS Monarch butterflies came out of the Tin of Shame and there are others that I made using old books and my SU die.

I wanted a little bit of watch parts in there and I saw a key somewhere when I was gathering things up so thought I would throw that into the mix too along with a NBUS TH card.  I tied the ribbon with a little bit of silver grey ribbon that was actually adorning a present my friend gave me at Christmas.  Waste not and you will want not.  Lace came from Funkie Junkie.  Only a little piece as it is too nice to use all in one go!
The leaves you can see were punched out of Snippet using my MacGill punch and inked up with DIs.

Finally I used my Cricut to die cut the  title which I cut twice to give it a bit of oomph!  Then I smooshed some more wax around and spritzed a little perfect pearls on there.
Love the layers you can see in these last two photos.

Hurrah!  You have made it through to the end.  Well done you.  Unless of course you skipped and just looked at the photos!  I don't mind but please leave me a comment to let me know you have been.

I am taking this over to the Playground for a ride on the swings and then cosy in front of the fire.  I am also entering this into Shopping our Stash as they are looking for old brads...mine certainly count as they are ancient!  And I will flutter past the Butterfly Challenge as there are some hexagons on my layout.   Not very often I get to link up with a few challenges!!  Woo hoo!!

Thanks for being patient.  See you all soon.

Scrapbook layout...Hurrah!! Tea On Tuesday. Flutterbies!

Hello there!

Brrrr!  My craft room has been shut up all day and with no heating on it sure is cold when I come in!!  What we do for the love of our art ey!

Last night I finished off a layout that I started on Sunday, my first in months!!  So I am sharing it today with my trusty morning cup of Glengettie tea....

What? You want to see the layout?  Oh! Go on then!!

Not the best shot for some reason as my camera has obviously focused on something.  I cannot take the photo now as it is too dark and the colours will be pants.

Some small close ups for you..

And now one of  my favourite photos of the day...soooo long ago.  You see I love my headdress.  When I got married tiaras were just coming in and everywhere I went with my Mum to try dresses on the assistants kept insisting I had a tiara but as far as I was concerned, I had lots of those as a girl in my dress up box and so I wanted a grown up headdress.  I got my way, as you can see, even if the stroppy assistant had to order it in specially as the one in the shop had some pearls missing and it was grubby!!  I only planned to have one wedding and so I was having it my way!

I have to say, the upload of this post has taken so long thanks to BT that my tea has now changed to hot chocolate.  Over an hour just to upload the photos.  I hope you like them!

Off to link up with Elizabeth at Tea (or cocoa) on Tuesday as well as Mrs A for the Butterfly Challenge as it is a Valentine theme, and as usual the Snippets Playground as there are Snippets galore in here.  The rub on "You are my everything" is positively ancient and one of the last ones on the sheet so definately some VOS!! I am also joining the Cuttlebug Mania challenge as they are looking for I heart you.  I think this might count!!  I have used lots of die cuts on this layout. If you want to know about anything specific (I lost the will to live and list everything with this internet), ask away!

I shall now be resetting the internet and possibly shoving it somewhere so will be calling by later after that has been done and I have stopped chewing my desk!!

Thanks for calling by!

Scrapbooking Tuesday.....T stands for Friends

Hello there!

Yep!  It is still Tuesday so I can still (just) get in on the Tea on Tuesday malarky with my mate Elizabeth and Bleubeard!   I was going to post this at lunchtime but the sun was shining so brightly outside my office  window I just had to go an enjoy some and get some vitamin D.  Never mind I am here now.

Today I am sharing another layout, and the last of my Wedding Album (though I may sneak some more pages in later as I have so many left!).........

Yep - four mates from school.  Helen (in the mustard dress) on the left, I first met when we went to Fairwater Comprehensive (High School), Sarah, next, is my longest friend.  We met when her family moved into the row above our house when we were just three.  Helen on my left and I met when she moved from North Wales to her cousin's house near to mine, and her cousin asked me if I would look after her.  I still correspond with Helen (mustard dress) as she lives in Yorkshire, and Sarah and I saw each other only last Sunday, but unfortunately the other Helen I have not seen for some time.

And here is my mug.  I do like Eeyore - we have the same view of life in some respects.  I am drinking my large coffee having just returned from work!

I used some more papers from the wedding album kit along with some Snippets, McCall punch, Sizzix dies, Cricut, glossy accents, Hampton Art glitter, pearls, TH stamp, Memento ink, Tonic die, vellum and button.

Can you see the vellum peeking from the top of the photo using my new (shhhh!) NBUS Tonic die.  I just love this one (Regal Circle Doily).  I can see a LOT of uses for this one!

I do like this flourish die from Sizzix - I use it so much.  A good die is worth it's weight in gold don't you think?  The layered flower is not used quite so much, yet I don't know why as it is lovely.

Thanks for calling by and letting me waffle again!  I do hope you have found some inspiration from my post and wafflings.  Feel free to join us over at Elizabeth's for a cuppa and natter.  Also, to the Snippets Playground for a play on the virtual rides.  You may even get to feed Puggles - our new Platypus who seems to want constant feeding!  If I can get him to stay still I will try and get a photo of him to share!

Scrapbook Tuesday - Tea on Tuesday - T Stands for True Love!

Hello there

I know last month was supposed to be the "love month", being Valentine's Day and all that, but on Saturday when my buddy was up for a day of scrapping, I felt in the mood for doing another layout (or two in fact) of my Wedding Album.  So I routled amongst the photographs and saw these two and decided to scrap them.

Ahhhhh!  Young love ey!  I cannot believe that these were taken nearly 25 years ago!  I don't feel old enough!

My trusty morning cuppa of Glengettie is to the side.  In a Teddy mug which even has my name of it.  Well, if you know me I am rather fond of hugs!

So, down to nitty gritty.  The papers are from the Album set which I bought many moons ago, and which came with the album they are for.  I have had it for so long I cannot remember the make off hand. The dragonflies are buttons with the shanks cut off.  I could not resist using them on this layout.  Bought from The Button Lady at a quilting show.

There is a little bit of a pun on this text....I only have eyes for you!  We met when I worked at an Opticians.  Mr Hettie was a customer and said he decided on our firm 'cos he fancied me!  Hmmmn!  In fact, I made the very glasses he is wearing on our Wedding Day!  He usually wears reactolite lenses and I did not want him to look like a member of the Taffia if the sun was out!  The "So" is from some old chipboard letters which I just edged with silvery black Memento ink and then added some Distress Stickles.

The Happy was from the same strip which I cut up for another layout a while ago.  The ivy leaves are from my Joanna Sheen die having seen it on a certain Pixie's blog.  Had to have it as I live at Ivy Cottage!  I have used some Distress Stickles on them to give a lickle schparkle to them.  Cut from Snippets of course!  I also used some Snippets to cut the flourishes from.

We look so young!!

Well, as you will see I have shared my cuppa with you, so I am linking up with Elizabeth and Bleubeard for the T on Tuesday.  I should have asked for a note from my Mum as to why I was away last week, but I will just have to hope she doesn't notice!  I am also sharing this with the Snippets Playground as there are some in there.

Thanks for calling by.

Mini Wedding Album...More Of...

Hello there Friends

Today is Tuesday so as part of my Scrapbook Tuesday I thought I would share some more of my Mini Wedding Album which I am desperately trying to finish so it can be another Done tick on my list!

As you may recall it was our Wedding Anniversary last week and I still struggle to think that our Wedding was sooooo long ago!  Eek!

Oh the joy of the confetti moment when it goes everywhere, including down your underwear!  I am saying nothing more on the subject!
I love this photo.  This is Rhys my Nephew with my Sister.  We were at his Wedding earlier this year.  That makes me feel even older!  I even dug some of my peel offs on this page!  VOS!

And here are my In-Laws.  I still miss my Father-in-Law greatly.  I used to call him "Pops" as even now I cannot call my MIL by her Christian name.  Hubby feels the same about calling my parents by their Christian names too!

As these are full of Snippets I shall be taking these right down to the Snippets Playground, where we now have Parsnip in charge while Miss is on her "Teacher Training"!!  Yeah Right!

Thanks for calling by.

Scrapbook Tuesday - Laugh

Hello Friends

Isn't this weather just glorious!!  Long may it reign (not mentioning the other similar word!)

I am sharing my layout I was intending to share with you last Tuesday, which the Blogging Gremlin stole once I had loaded it last week.  Do you remember this one........
Well, it was too 3D to get into a scrapbook album, as well as not fitting in colourwise to our Scrapbook Wedding Album that I have been working on so I used the rough outline and made one more in keeping with the blue theme.....

Only fing is that the blue of this photo does not quite match the colours of the papers but the below one does.  I don't know if it is me, but with shades of blue I often get difficulty reproducing them from the camera? Can you see that lovely blue carnation in the bottom right?  A very schpeshial blogging buddy may that for me, as well as some others which all came in a handmade box a little while ago.  I told her I would be using them sparingly and this is the first one!  They were all "real" flowers.  Super aren't they!

More flowers which I have shaped using my super dupler moulding mat and tools from McGill.  I can see me using those a lot in the near future!   All the inking was done using Faded Jeans, Black Soot and Barn Door Distress Inks.
Some TH cut flowers and some cut on my Silhouette and then sprayed with Colourwash inks. I also used Spellbinders and Paperartsy flowers on this.  The papers came from the set which came with the album and my Snippets boxes.  I shall be skipping over the Playground very soon for a paddle in the pool.
I just love to layer and "fiddlefart" with my flowers, in case you did not realise by now!  I hope my CAS friends can cope with all the layers!  That brad on the right is a Laura Ashley one.  How long was that all around?  I am still using the papers too....slowly!
More Sizzix flowers with an embellishment I think I bought when Noah was still in shorts!

Right, off to go outside to play now in the sunshine.  Spare a thought for me as I have a slight change of direction in my painting.  I "volunteered" to paint the downstairs windows outside which are 6" or thereabouts - so far I have done 38 and I have 102 to go.  Then I will have to do a second coat and the sils and after that, move inside!!!  I must be mad!  But they have to be done.  Please pray for this fine weather to continue.  We have wanted them to be done for the last two years but haven't been able to!

Thanks for popping by.

Hugs

Scrapbooking Tuesday - Live in the Moment...

Hello there Friends

I am afraid due to circumstances beyond my control I was unable to share a Layout/scrapbook page with you last Tuesday, but I hope you will forgive me when you see what I have brewed up for you today!  You may want a cuppa as it is a bit of a heavy post.....

I am using my lovely new "the Sweetest Thing" papers and stamps by MME.  Awesome papers and I was sensible enough to buy the 12x12", 6x6" and stamps that all co-ordinate bootifully!

So I started with a fairly plain sheet which I sprayed with a mix of Colourwash (Cranberry and Plum), Perfect Pearls Mist (Forever red) and Glimmer mist (Gold).

I took another piece which has a pinky damask background and my honeycomb mask and Distress Inks (Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry) and adhered it to the centre of the background piece.

Then came the fun part..... I die cut, electronic cut and "fiddle-farted" with flowers to my heart's content.  I used some of the pieces left from the centre panel, some of the 6x6" paperstock, plain white card stock and some Snippets to make flowers, leaves and more flowers!  I cut some of the flowers out on the Silhouette using plain white cardstock as well as some print 'n' cut flowers and the pink rose picture.  The flowers I put together with my glue gun and then sprayed them with the same mix of colourwash and glimmer mists that I used on the background.

I die cut lots of the flowers and leaves using printed papers from the collection and also my Snippets box.  Dies used ranged from Tim Holtz, Spellbinders, Sizzix and Paperartsy.  The cream doily pieces were cut from Snippets which my friend Kim thought would be funny to send to me at Christmas with a whole pile of other Snippets!  See! They do get used!!

I used very few bought embellishments other than four teeny tiny paper flowers by Hero Arts, the metal TH embellishment, two TH buttons (very stingy with those buttons!) and the pearl brads.

The bees were stamped using the stamps from this range with Momento ink, embossed with clear embossing powder, coloured yellow with a Copic pen and then washed with pearl PP.  I then cut them out and added them on to the layout with foam pads to (hopefully) make them look like they had just landed.

Here you can see the depth of the flowers.  This one at the bottom right was made with a die I bartered for at the Crop with Debs!!  It is my newest die and I Love it!!!

Here is another view so you can see the depth of the layout.  Let me tell you, I will not be crushing this into an album!  I shall be taking a trek to a well known Hobby shop to buy a frame.  The colours match our bedroom and this is one of my favourite Photographer photos (scanned and converted into black and white).  Megan broke free from the Bridesmaids and wanted Uncle Simon to pick her up!!  Of course he obliged!  (She is 25 this year!!  Scary!!)

The centres of the flowers were glued and then red and gold micro beads were sprinkled liberally inside.

And isn't this lace divine?  I bought it a little while ago from HERE and I have not used it until now as it is soo gorgeous!  I don't want to use it all up too quickly now do I?

Well, sorry this is a bit of a long post and thanks for staying with me thus far.  I hope you have enjoyed it and if you wish to know anything about what I have done, please feel free to ask.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges.....

Frilly and Funkie - Sunday Share - Lace (go check out the shop - I dare you not to buy anything!)
Fashionable Stamping - Something new

Hugs
