WOYWW 260 - Happy 5th Anniversary!!!

Happy Happy 5th Anniversary to all my WOYWWing friends and of course the host Julia, who had the idea of creating WOYWW.  I have a lot to thank Julia for... my blog - I only started it having visited Julia a few times as a non-blogger, lots of new blogging friends and some friends for life.  Thank you Julia!  Also thank you for the third Crop last weekend.  I had a ball!

Here I am enjoying some fun and in my "fun zone" on Saturday...

The day went so fast, before I knew it, we were packing up.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have rediscovered my love of poetry.  So especially for you Julia...

Our Day at the WOYWW Crop

Lots of excitement, squeals of delight,

"How do you dos" and "Give us a Hug",

"What are you up to" and "Ooo look at that",

A wonderful buzz here at Julia's Crop

Bags are unpacked, another arrives,

Jan's making tea and there's cake going round,

Name stickers on, desks getting fuller,

We're full of intentions but we must have fun.

Hardly time to settle down and 

Lunch is being announced,

After all the cake I have had today

 I shouldn't eat an ounce.

There's salad, quiche, meat and bread, 

All served with smiles and love,

The hall soon goes into deathly hush

Whilst we concentrate on grub.

The plates are cleared, we are all full, 

We all go back to our desks,

Lots more chatter, the Big Shot's busy,

"Anyone for tea?" "Oo err. Yes!"

More "Oos" and "Ahs" and "Oh that's clever", 

"Have you done that today?"

Wandering round desks, having a natter,

"Wanna swap an ATC?"

Silence now, Julia's talking, 

Tickets out girls, time for the raffle,

"It's me", "Its mine", "Oh drat very close!"

There's a free table too, don't leave nowt for the host.

Before too long some folks have to leave us,

More hugs now as they are packing and parting,

An exchange of emails and addresses,

"Keep in touch", best of Budds forever.

A flurry of packing, clearing and stacking, 

Jan tells us all the clock is ticking.

The keys need to be back by 5 o'clock,

Enough of that...back to my desks, more of a case of Who's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...

WOYWW 163 - Prepare to be Amazed!

Hello Peeps

Today is Wednesday and the day when a lot of crafting peeps show photos of their desk/floor/settee/kitchen or wherever they normally create their art and link them up via the blogasphere with the Lovely Julia over at the Stamping Ground where the biggest weekly blog hop takes place.

Here are photos of my desk today and I am not going to say a lot.  Just leave you all dumbfounded!   There was a liberal application of windowlene used here last night (it still smells of it this morning!)

I came across Monkey who had quietly disappeared whilst I was having the mass clear up.....hence why he is now seated at the top of the Tower!

Yikes - Wednesday! Really? That means WOYWW!

Hello Peeps

Well this sure has been a brilliant weekend with a fabulous spread of pomp and ceremony and good old Britishness!  However, whilst I was enjoying my little self yesterday I forgot that it was Wednesday today!  So Happy Wednesday, and Happy WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday as if you didn't know)!

I cannot show you my ATC which I made as I don't think the recipient has received  it yet and I don't want to spoil the surprise.  I can tell you I have received a few beauties today and I have a lickle project in mind for them!  We shall see what happens.

Well this week I decided it was high time I cleared my sewing machine of the blanket of dust and got stuck into the quilt I am supposed to be making for our quilting group's challenge (I have to have it finished by October - Oops!).  

No I am not making bunting!  That is Jan's job and I wouldn't like to upset her!  Hee Hee!  I am chain sewing though!

And look who has crept over from the other desk to be in the shot!  Well I wouldn't like to upset his fans now would I?

WOYWW 153 - Where did April Go?

Hello Peeps

Happy Wednesday and Happy WOYWW Day.  I am sure you all know what that means don't you?  The chance of a legitimate nosey around desks of the world with the lovely Julia Dunnit of WOYWW fame!  So here is my desk....

What is on there today then?  Card on the left from my Buddy. Under the card is a list of jobs I need to get done pretty pronto. Clock needs a new battery - not going to rush that little job! Claudine Helmuth Multi Medium next to Glossy Accents. Love that stuff.  Empty Boofle coaster.  Some snippets on the left to make some cards for the Playground.  Notebook on the right.  Blackberry, waiting for its new case, still! Oh, and some pots of flock and stickers that came with a magazine years ago.  If anyone would like them, let me know your e-mail addie and I will contact you for your snail mail addie.  They are not my thing and it would be a shame to waste them.  If several of you want them I will do a dip which Monkey can pick out.  Talking about Monkey, where is he?  

Ah!  There you are.  Think you can hide in there without me noticing ey!  Monkey went out the other day to my friend's house and has now decided he likes to see other desks "in the flesh" so to speak so is hoping to smuggle his way out of my room in my bag!  Hee Hee!  Gotta admire his thinking!

WOYWW 150 - Monkey Business!

Hello Peeps

Yeay! It is Wednesday so Happy WOYWW Day! Happy Wednesday! Happy Hump Day (however you want to read that!).

It is time for the weekly blog hop with the lovely Miss Dunnit where we all show off our desks and hop around the world viewing other desks and leaving comments!  Whether they be tidy, messy, on the floor, in the bedroom, in a shed, it doesn't matter.  Just take a photo of your desk, put it on your blog, link your post HERE and we will all come and have an official "nosey".

Here is mine.  Relatively tidy this week as I had just finished my CC2C piece. 

However, I popped downstairs for 5 mins and came back to find Monkey playing with his new favourite toy!  Bless 'im!  Perhaps he is planning on decorating my room when I am not looking! 

Though I think he gets a little help from his friends to operate the punch! But we musn't let on that we know ey!

Hello There Peeps

Happy Hump Day.  Happy Easter to you in advance of Sunday.  And of course....  Happy WOYWW Day!

For those of you who still don't know what this means it is where we crafters take a picture of our desk, post it on our blog and then link up to the lovely Desk Jockey Julia and then take part in the biggest Blog Hop in the world....probably!

So here is my desk.....

I know.... you are impressed!  It is tidy!!   You see I have been taking part (and still am) in the Creative Chemistry 101 and have been very good and cleaned and tidied after I have finished so as not to contaminate the next piece!   Don't worry it won't last. 

Look what arrived last week.  My WOYWW badge from the lovely Julia - thank you!  Fergus wanted to each try it on so Fergus went first (have you ever seen a Highland Cow cry?  Not pretty!).  And then Monkey had it on.

Of course, he gets to keep it on as he sits on my desk!!

Just in case you are concerned, no stuffed animal was hurt in the obtaining of these photos and they wore the badge entirely voluntarily!

WOYWW 136 - Still relatively tidy folks!!

Hello there Peeps.

It is Wednesday, so that means it is WOYWW day with the lovely Julia Dunnitt. For those of you who still don't know what this means, then I will give you a quick resume. 

1   Take a photo of your workspace, be it a desk, dining or kitchen table, floor, bed, lap - anywhere you are currently working on a project.

Here is my desk.......

Believe it or not it is still relatively tidy.  The cards you can see are the ones I completed last night for the Snippets Challenge with the lovely Di, who holds the playground keys.   Feel free to join in the fun and frolics of using up your Snippets!

Here you can see my desk is being skillfully supervised by my lovely Monkey.  In case you are wondering about the lilac card next to him, that was made by my good friend Angela some time ago.  The card is a little reminder of the good times we had before she was taken away from her family and friends.  I cannot seem to get round to putting the card away so why not have it where I can see it when I stop with my cuppa!

The white bits of card that Monkey is holding up are pieces of watercolour paper which I could not bear to throw away when I was making my Christmas cards and am slowly using up with my Snippets Challenges.  As you may just about see, I have stamped and coloured a piece already for a card.  I think that might be Val's Birthday card which is coming up!

WOYWW 129 - A Haaandbaarg!!!

Sorry guys - I was trying to say it like in The Importance of Being Ernest!!

Happy .... Hump Day or WOYWW or Wednesday whichever you would like it to be.  Today's the day when a lorra Crafters show off their desks on their blogs and all link in to the Desk Jockey - Julia Dunnit.

BTW - when Mandy was up at the weekend, she reminded me where I got this lovely stamp from, it was Hobbycraft and it was half price!  Now I know why I really like it!!  If you are lucky you might be able to get one. 

The lickle handbags are little gift bags in the making for my Craft Fairs which are only next week - eeeeeeek!  These I just have to put some velcro spots on the flaps and add a decoration of some sort on to the fronts.  There are little gift tags hanging from each of them, which you cannot see from here.

If you take a look at the last few posts you can see some of the other stuff I have made.  On the left corner of my desk I have some more pillow boxes cut out ready to put together as well as some more of the little square cubes which need to be stamped, acetate windows put in and then assembled.  For the assembling you need at least three if not four hands.  Monkey has tried but he has no working thumbs!!

I am really starting to panic about the Craft Fairs as I do not have many cards ready yet but hopefully by the weekend I will have finished the boxes so I can sit down just to do cards.

Off to work, Dancing and then I will try and catch up with you all later today or in the week.

WOYWW 128 - And Yes! It is still tidy!!

Hello Folks

Guess what day of the week it is - again!  Is it me or are the weeks going faster the closer we are getting to the C word?

For those of you who visit my desk on a Wednesday and came last week you will remember that my desk was tidy.  Well, sorry to disappoint you, but it is still relatively tidy this week though there are signs of life!!!

 For a start, Mr Monkey is trying to get in on every photograph!

I currently have three small albums on the go.  These were all buried under the pile in the corner of my desk but now they have been liberated they will be finished.  They have to be finished as they are to be on my Craft Stalls at the forthcoming Craft Fairs.

WOYWW 123 - Missing In Action

Hello there Peeps

I have been a Bad Blogger - Very Bad Blogger (think Harry Potter chastising a certain Dobby voice!).

Unfortunately, things are not running smoothly in the Hettiecraft Household with various things and unfortunately my blogging has suffered as a consequence.  I promise I will do my utmost to rectify my slack blogging of late! 

However, as my header suggests, I have not totally abandoned my room, it is just that I don't seem to be able to be in here as often as I would like (or ought!).  I do hope I will be forgiven.  However, today is Wednesday and I could not let the day go by without joining in the WOYWW with the lovely Julia.  I am sure that you all know what this is about so without further ado here is my desk......

Yep.  It is quite honestly a big mess.  I must have about 10 projects underway all at the same time.  It is quite honestly a case of what I need to do soonest gets turfed out and worked on otherwise it is a case of whatever is on top gets done! 

Mr Monkey is heading operations and I am sure there must be some Peanut Butter M&Ms in the bottom of that tin as he seems to have his little hand in there!  (If you haven't tried Peanut Butter M&Ms you must.  However, I can only find them in the US so anyone going, please bring me some back!)  I am sure he thinks I can see him doing it but I know you know!

I can also show you a lickle project which I finished on Sunday night....

Hubby decided that it should be a "purple grungy gothie teenage girl" thing!  I hope you think it matches what he suggested.  I cannot do real goth but hopefully someone will buy it when I have my stall at the Christmas Craft Fair at our local Church for the Cancer Charity.  I also hope I can make enough stuff before then to sell too!

WOYWW 120 - There seems to be alot of cake here...

Hello there Peeps

Here we are again.  Yet another Wednesday!  Happy Hump Day too!  I cannot believe how quickly this year is going and how quickly Wednesdays seem to come around. 

So today is Wednesday so that means one thing to a large bunch of Crafters - WOYWW Day!!  So without further ado here is my desk....

All this Wednesday madness and mayhem is hosted by the lovely JULIA.  This is a fab way of hopping around the world in the middle of the week via crafting desks!

As you can see there is an awful lot of cake on my desk!  I have a few birthdays coming up in the next couple of weeks so I thought I would bake a batch of Birthday Cake cards.  That way I can pop some in the tin until later.  As you can see Monkey is supervising the whole thing now.  He has also kindly pointed out that I seem to have missed a trimming off one of the cakes.  Why he couldn't have told me that whilst the Big Shot was out I don't know!!!  If he was any kinda good Monkey he would cut it for me whilst I was at work.

Do you remember this......?  It was on my desk a few Wednesdays ago.

WOYWW 119 - Quilting and Monkey

Hello there Peeps

Here we are again on another Wednesday showing our desks off to the world via the lovely Julia Dunnitt.

Here is what is actually on my desk at the moment......

I attended a quilting workshop on Saturday at our Quilting Group and was able to put the whole of the quilt top together with borders!! I even managed to cut out the rest of the fabric to make a backing rather than find another piece of fabric and to avoid having big scraps of these fabrics and not have anything to use them in.   So on Sunday I put the back of the quilt together and then with the help of my tacking gun it is now all ready to quilt.  I will show you more once I have quilted the whole thing.

In the meantime, I needed to make a New Home card for a friend of mine and look who has agreed to have his photo taken and "come out" to meet you all.  Yes.  I have a lickle Monkey too however, unlike some of the others I have seen on my travels around desks, this little chap is incredibly shy. 

Incidentally, I went out last night with a few friends of mine to see the new Jane Eyre.  It is BRILLIANT!!!  I thoroughly recommend you go and see it.

Well, off to work now and tonight my Scottish Dancing class starts so I will probably have to come around and visit you tomorrow.  I hope you don't mind, I know it is supposed to be on Wednesday but I cannot NOT join in any more with this phenonomonomon that is WOYWW!!!!
