Lesley's Birthday Card

Hello Buddies

Gosh!  Wednesday already!!  How did that happen?  Happy Hump Day Everyone.

Today I thought I would share a card I made for a friend of mine last week.  It seems very apt colourwise for the Autumn kinda day we are having today.  Lesley is a fan of oranges and yellows hence the colourway.

It was made using a Sweet Poppy stencil, first colouring it with DIs then removing the stencil to dry the inks before repositioning it carefully and using clear paste as you normally do.
Once you have lifted the stencil VERY carefully, without dropping or smudging it and carefully placing it into a handy bowl of water, get your clear fine microbeads and pour them over.  These microbeads are swines terrible for getting everywhere!  I mean everywhere.   Leave to dry overnight WITHOUT picking at it to see if they are dry yet.
But the effect is awesome!  Especially in the sunshine.  Top tip - do all your edges etc before you attach the beads cos the little blighters beads get in your punches!
The finishing touches were added, a strip of Snippet card punched with EK Success punch, another piece layered on top.  Punched butterflies - again using Snippets, and some fluff.  The Friends sentiment was kindly sent to me some time ago.  Voila - pwetty card finished and Lesley LOVES it!

Thanks for calling by.  Isn't it nice to see the little kiddiewinks going back to school!!  Though I wish more peeps would walk their kids to school to prevent the queues!

Birthday Greetings.....Ladies card

Good Morning Peeps

I am off to visit the Beautiful Bride to give her the garter I have been making (no I have not shown it completed yet as I want the Bride to be the first to see it complete).  Before I hope off down there though I thought I would share a card which I made for one of the girls in the office.....

I love this step fold card, though I am not sure I have done it the right way round, but Jackie is left handed anyway!  I used a Snippet of K&Co card, Martha Stewart and EK Success punches, a Snippet of ribbon and this is the first outing for my Artisitc Outpost Bloom and Grow stamp set using Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink which I embossed with clear embossing..  Some sparklies in the centre of the butterflies and a few staples to hold the ribbon.

I am going to pop this over to Artistic Outpost as it is using the Bloom and Grow set.  I can see this becoming a favourite as it is so detailed.

Off to see the fun and frolics that are occurring in the Playground before I jump in the car.  Why not make something using Snippets and join in the fun?  Lots of fun to be had in the virtual Treehouse when it is wet too!

TTFN and have a great week.

Hugs

Scrapbook Layout - Longleat - Quack Quack

Hello Peeps

What a lovely day we have had today here in South Wales.  I even managed a spot of work in the garden today too!

I thought I would show you another layout I have recently done.....

A little bright and cheerful but it matches the brightness of our outfits!  I cannot believe that my Mum made us wear those suits and knitted the jumpers to match.  Both my sister and I had the trousers and the jackets. I probably had matching socks and pants on too knowing me!!
We were at Longleat for my brother's birthday as that was what he wanted.  He was offered a party but he wanted to go to Longleat.  Dad wasn't too pleased after the monkeys took the wing mirrors off the car!

Quack Quack cut with my Silhouette.  Who would have known that in years to come I would get to play in the Playground duck pond years later!!

Yep!  Typical me.  Matching ribbons!  My poor Mother had to buy me three ribbons for my hair.  One long one (a yard typically) for when I was sporting a ponytail, and two slightly shorter ones (3/4 yard) for when my hair was in bunches!  How I must have tested her patience!  Bless her!  I won't even mention our excursions into the Marks & Spencer pants aisle!  I will blog about that another day!  Maybe!!

Now I have given you a giggle and a glimpse into my past please don't forget to sign in so I know you have been.

Hugs

Moments - Scrapbook Layout

Hello Bloggers

I don't like to tempt fate, but when I left the office tonight the sky actually wasn't leaking and nowsome 4 or so hours later it still hasn't leaked!  Woo Hoo.  All we need is a few more hours (say 100 or more) and we may be able to cut the grass!!  Nah!  No chance ey.

Never mind.  How about I show you a layout tonight then?  You want to see?  Okay then.  Here it is...

Mr Hettie and Dobby enjoying a moment in the garden when we had some sun about two years ago.  When we come home from work we like to sit together on the patio (well at least in the summer) with a cup of coffee (and maybe a biscuit or two) and talk about our day and what we plan to do for the evening, however, this summer - no chance!  We have had to resort to sitting at the dining room table instead.

Love this flower.  It is actually made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die!  And a button in the middle of course.
The Moments is also another Tim Holtz die cut out of a delivery box and painted with stencil paint with some copper wax smooshed on the top.
Lots of punchings on the there.  If you look carefully you can just about see our bee hive in the background.
Love the shape on this one.  You can see some tearing of the corner too.  It was a square torn in half diagonally and tucked under the frame.   And a fair bit of doodling around the edges.

Hope you like it and please let me know what you think by signing in the Visitors Book, so I can pop over to see you later!

Happy Birthday Dear M

Good Evening Crafters

How are you tonight?

Today is my dear Friend's Daughter's Birthday and she is having the holiday of a 9 year old's lifetime so I cannot give her a hug! :-(

I did manage to get her card and pressie to her so that she could open it today.  It was a ***** and some ******! You don't think I am going to tell you do you?  She  might not have had them yet as they are a few hours behind!!

Here is the card I made for her anyway!!  I did not post it before as I did not want her Mum to see it!!

It is er, very orange!  Bear in mind, will you, that I actually wanted to make a turquoise/aqua one!!  I could not make a pinkey /purpley card as Mummy had made one in those colours for her whilst she was up here having a Craft Day in my room.  So I sat in the garden a few Sundays ago keeping an eye on the Chooks whilst they were roaming free with my tin of stamp prints and my bag of Copics (not many but the collection is building nicely!).  I knew this stamped image was in there so I coloured it in with turquoise/aqua shades.  Then I spotted another one and so started it in oranges for a change.  A few different images later and then I came up to my room to make a card and for some reason, though I reached for the turquoise image the orange one came out and the papers fell into my hands so an orange one it was.

I am sure my little Buddy will like it!! I hope!!! Happy Birthday Little Munchkin!!!

Off for a wander in blogland before it is time for my bed!!

Thanks for looking and please leave me a comment!

Nos Da!
