My Valentine...

Hello there

Was it just me or was that last weekend over in a flash?  I hope you all had a great Valentine's celebration.  Mr Hettie and I celebrated ours on Friday as Mr Hettie had to work on Saturday night.  I wasn't too bothered as I had already arranged to go do a dance on the night which was fun fun fun.

We went to our local and had a great meal and Mr Hettie surprised me with a new bit of silver for my charm bracelet and another Boofle.  I was a lucky girl!

I thought I would share the card I made for him....

Yep!  I used my Sarntangle stamp, coloured with Copics and I applied some glossy accents to the hearts and the centre of the flower.  I stamped one of the sentiments with Potting Shed Archival, then mounted this on a Snippet of paper which was from a collection of papers which I sprayed, spritzed and generally had fun with some time ago.  I just thought the colours matched very well.

I rummaged through my little die cuts drawer and found some red stars which were cut with my SSS die.

With a plethora of Snippets on here I am just running over the Snippets Playground to show my buddies.  If you like the stamps I have used why not join in as there is a set available as this week's prize.  If you wish to buy your own then click HERE.

Thanks for calling by.

Happy Valentines Day my Darling

Hello There Folks!

I am back in the world of the living and hopefully Mr Chestin Fection and his buddies have gone on a hike for some time!  I am still not A1 but getting there and tomorrow I shall be going back in to the family of folks known as "work"!  Yeah I know!

I just about managed to drag my aching butt into my abandoned Craft Room on Thursday afternoon for the first time in over two weeks, to put Mr Hettie's Valentine's Day card together.  Unfortunately, not being out and about I was unable to get him a pressie too, so he had to make do with hugs and hopefully no bugs!

So here it is....

I used one of my Sweet Poppy Stencils and some Martha Stewart glitter to make the tree, having cut the background using an XCut die.  I stamped the arrows using WOW embossing powder and made a banner out of a Snippet of cardstock, doodled around the edge and added some Chit Chat stickers.  Oh yes, I also added some glossy accents to one heart and sprinkled some silver glitter on to it.  Well, it is a special anniversary for us later this year!

This I stamped on the inside of the card.  The colour is not brilliant, blame the dull weather for that!  Again I used my embossing powder of choice - WOW!

And this lovely sloppy stamp went on the right hand side inside.

Me?  I got spoilt with porridge in bed, made with Alpro (other milks are available, but I could not have dairy milk within two hours of my antibiotics), then Mr Hettie brought me a gorgeous card, a huge Boofle and later flowers!  I fink he loves me!

Right then, off to see what is happening in the Snippets Playground as the banner was from my Snippets basket.

Have a great week everyone!

Scrapbooking Tuesday - Rome - Valentine

Hello Blogging Friends

Before I start, I would just like to say Congratulations to Prince William and Catherine on the safe delivery of a Baby Boy! I am sure his cute little face will be plastered all over the news very soon.  I just hope the press will give them some space to be a family.

Right, onto today's post.  I have used a kit which I bought many many years ago, but as per me I have "tweaked" it to my liking.

All the papers are My Minds Eye, Lost and Found, with a few Snippets added.  These photos were taken in Rome in February 2011.  We managed to tie the break in with Valentine's Day so were able to celebrate it in sunshine.  The larger photo being at the Forum and the smaller one was taken at the Spanish Steps.
I added some music under the title, which was cut out of one of the sheets that were in the kit.  I used a Snippet and then ribbed some Treasured Gold wax over.  I also took a piece of C Snippets and punched some corners, again rubbing with wax.
On the edge of the brown paper stock I stamped my Tim Holtz flourish stamp and then embossed with gold embossing powder (see I told you I tweak things!).  I cut a tag from Snippet left over from my C album and stamped it with a NBUS (Never Before Used Stash), a Wendy Vecchi stamp and embossed it with red embossing powder and then went around the edges using the same powder.  I then decided to echo the TH stamping and went over the top with Brushed Corduroy DI (as I used on all my edges).  I added a piece of ribbon and a small Snippet of hemp string that has been hanging around on my desk for ages.
In order to add a little journalling, I cut a TH label, inked the edge and drew around the edge before writing my journalling on there.

Simon Says Stamp are asking this week for Celebration projects, well we were celebrating Valentine's Day.

I am also taking this down to the Playground as there are Snippets included.  I wonder if the Treehouse is still standing. There is a rumbling in the jungle that it was being removed and being replaced with a trampoline!  How we are going to keep dry and warm when the cooler weather comes? That parrot isn't going to want to stay outside either!!

TTFN and thanks for calling by.

Hugs

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello Friends

Happy Valentine's Day to one and all.

Today I am going to share with you the card I have made for Hubby.  Not exactly slushy mushy but I hope he will like it. I had different plans for Hubby's card but when my lickle order came from The Funkie Junkie last week, I knew I just had to use these Diesel Punk stamps from Artistic Outpost.  (Can someone please tell me how I got from admiring Artistic Outpost stamps to owning six sets in a very short space of time?  Linda at The Funkie Junkie and the AO DT have got a lot to answer for!)

I have used lots of layers with some sanding, stamping, inking, diecutting, waxing, distress stickling, embossing, powder embossing and edge distressing on this card.  The first layer was made from Tim Holtz Cordinations paper under which I placed a stencil and then sanded, moving it around.  I placed a piece of K&Co map paper over the first layer and stamped a TH bunch of tickets stamp and cut them out to place down the side.  I cut a piece of SU Vanilla cardstock and stamped various stamps using DI and on another piece I stamped and cut out the men stamp, inked some Spun Sugar for their faces (they looked too pale otherwise - lots of men wear make up these days!) added some Scattered Straw distress stickles before adhering it over the background with foam pads.  I cut out some photo corners from the Cordinations, again sanding them.

I just love this sentiment, which has been inked and embossed with embossing powder. Underneath the picture I cut a piece of the card from which I made the card base and stamped with the same stamps I used on the background piece, but with Gathered Twigs before attaching some TH filmstrip using some cogs and a charm.

A little red heart stamped with Barn Door DI and some red distress stickles and then I sprayed the whole card with some Forever Red Perfect Pearls mist.  I even stamped inside the card and used a Lovely Day stamp too!

Right!  That is it for now.  I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day.  Just to say that I am linking this up with the Sunday Share over at The Frilly and Funkie blog as it has been made with items bought from The Funkie Junkie Boutique!  As well as the Sunday Share I am going to link this with the Artistic Outpost's February Referral!

Happy Valentine's Day - Snippets

Good Evening Peeps from, a very snowy Praha

Hubby and I have taken a short breaks to wonderful Praha to spend Valentine's Day.  So I thought I would show you the Valentine Day card which I made for my lovely man......

As you can see it has the theme of Praha, the medieval manuscript and illuminations were from a book which I bought some time ago, second hand for £1, as I knew it would come in handy for some Praha scrapbooking in the future, the cogs were to represent the clock tower in Old Town Hall (plus it also justified me spending money on the die!!), the hearts are kinda obvious and the heart punch border I actually borrowed from my friend Penny, and the image stamped on the bottom is Karlov most aka Charles Bridge, one of the most significant monuments of Praha after the castle of course.

All the pieces were from scraps which entitles me to entry into the Snippets Playground of the lovely Di.

And, just because I cannot get enough of Praha at the moment, here is a picture I took earlier today - please bear in mind that I have not yet edited this photo and we are on our way UP this hill with further to go til we get to the Monastery!
And as for Fergus - he has been a bit of a naughty boy not that he needed much encouragement from Simon!!!
