Special Pink card for a Special Pink Lady...

Hello there!

I am hoping to creep back into the Playground without drawing attention to myself.  Do you think I will be noticed?  I have been missing in action due to generally being busy and life does get in the way doesn't it?

I thought I would share the card I made for someone who is known to the Snippets Playground for liking pink.  This looks more lilac on the photos but IRL it is more pinky.

I tried out a new (to me) technique and introduced myself to my brayer which I was given a little while ago by the recipient of this card.  So two NBUS things for me.  The video is HERE if you want a go.  It involves glossy card stock (I used good ole Tim Holtz stuff), brayer, distress inks and cling film.  Once the background was made I then stamped on it using my Lavinia Stamps and TH Archival inks..

Here is a close up of the ribbon with a bell and angel wings.  These bells are so cute and I could not resist buying them.  First time out of the packet for these little ones.

I am joining in with the Snippets Playground (black thread...neeed more!), my Mate Darnell's NBUS challenge as well as the Lavinia Stamps blog which is asking you to use some ribbon!  Yeay!

Thanks for calling by.

Well, someone who might or might not be a headmistress will defo love this pink and ethereal fairy wonderland of a card, Sam!! That ribbon treatment with the bell and wings tied up in the cool black cord is perfect for your scene!

And well done you for mixing it up with your brayer. I haven't spoken to mine in years ever since that episode with the ... sorry, I still can't talk about it without getting emotional. You do give me hope, however, that one day there might be forgiveness and I can be one with the brayer. That just sounded wrong. I'm going to stop now.

Except, of course, I want to thank you for playing again in my NBUS Challenge!! Mwah, Darnell

Managed to hit enter to soon...sorry!

I have never used a brayer and I am very impressed with your skill at creating with one. Great job there.

Totally understand about getting busy with life. In the same boat myself...

Cor - that's a cracker of a card Sam. I expect the recipient just LOVED it!

I'm with Darnell on the brayer front - my brayer and I are NOT friends.

No point faking a letter to explain your Playground absence . . . Miss just rips 'em up!

This is what we do as Pixies
Helping other when in fixes.
Brownie days, I was a pixie. well it was better than when I was a girl Guide and I was a Blue Tit, gosh that was so embarasing on the day we had to wear out Guide clothes to school.
Go to the Sydney Butterfly zoo and you will never use a butterfly on your cards again, I do love real life butterflies, I have the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and if you can get a decent background paper then I really can tolerate this.

Keep up the fabulous work, one extreamly talented Lady,

Kath xxx

I absolutely ADORE this card Sam - it's still on display here :) Oh how I laughed at Sarn saying I rip rip up the excuse notes - how'd she guess that one then? And then Kath set me off about the unfortunate Girl Guide Patrol name - snort!

Did I say your card is even lovelier in real life?

I loves it! And I want it too! A fabulous idea of using the bell with the wings: I will probably pinch that but will try to remember so that I can credit you. Congrats on using your brayer too - that thing can be a mean beastie at times! It took me a long time to be able to use mine without lines and I actually prefer mat card as I found it more forgiving. I do also still love it more on mat card 'cos it creates much more gently blended colours.
I can see she loved it too which makes it perfect! Hope you get some time to play this weekend Karen xx
