Good Evening
It is still Tuesday so I am still going to share a cuppa with you as I show you my layout I have created. It would have been up last Tuesday but we were having issues with Internet in these parts all last week hence my lack of layout and visiting.
Anyhoo, onto this week. The layout I am sharing with you and my friends over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard's Tea on Tuesday is quite unique for me in that it shows a layout of something I have made. Let me show you what I mean...
So here I am on a layout which features my dress which I made earlier this year and wore to the Summer Lunch at the end of June. Isn't that background paper by MME just wonderful! It was too nice to cover or cut so I used it as it was and just added things to it, like the banners on the top right, two of them are made using the Snippets of fabric left over from my dress. I also used some of the pearlised turquoise card which I only have snippets left. I don't know what I will do when it is all gone. The title is cut from a TH die, the stitching drawn on and stamped using my new Paperartsy stamp set which I bought recently using a voucher I received for my Birthday from a VIP. It was THIS set I bought and I love it! It was a difficult choice to make and I am sure I will go back for more similar themed stamps later.
The cup this morning is one of my chicken cups filled with Glengettie which I am sure I have shared with you before. I nearly bought another one the other day, but it was the smaller sized version, no point really. If you are going to have a cup of tea make it a large one!
The little bobbin card was made using a stamp bought, along with the scissor one, in a gorgeous shop called Makery in Bath. The button was one of the stamps in the set.
You can see I was having fun with my sewing machine and some varigated thread around the edge of the layout, which I had distressed using a TH distressing tool.
These little cards were made using the stamps from the set, stamped with Memento and then inked with Pumice Stone. A little embroidery thread and some pins.
Aren't these hooks just gorgeous? I can see a lot of use of this stamp set, hence my choosing it.
I was asked recently about journalling and how I include it on layouts. This is a prime example of how I can rabbit on without it taking up the whole of the page. This card is tucked behind the photo on the left hand side. It doesn't need to be on show on the front of the page but I wanted to include it as it reminds me what make the pattern was and the fabric.
Right, I am now finally off to join Elizabeth and Bleubeard with Tea on Tuesday...it is still Tuesday...Just. I spoke too soon about the internet. This post has taken two restarts on the internet hub and about two hours to load up!!! I am also taking this down to the Snippets Playground to show my Buddies.

Lovely page layout, I love all the sewing bits. Nice dress too, it's years since I made anything to wear.

Nice page. I like that tiny bit with the thread wound round it and also the idea that you put a message behind the photo so you have details for future use.

Lots of great details. I do think you look wonderful in the dress you made. Happy T-Day! :)
"If you are going to have a cup of tea make it a large one!" Ah, a woman after my own heart :) Happy Tea Tuesday!
When I saw those hooks I went crazy. Crazy in LOVE. Then I took a peek at the stamp set you bought and realized they were a STAMP. Amazing how the eye can be fooled in 2-D space.
I couldn't sew a straight line if my life depended on it. I guess that's why I simply adore your lovely, lovely layout. And one of the reasons I'm not fond of scrapbooking is because you have to do all that silly writing. That's what makes your spreads so lovely: you cover up the writing/journaling.
I'm with Divers and Sundry about the cup size. Had a good laugh at that one.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful scrapbook page and chickens with us for T this week.
Guess I should have said I realized the hooks were a stamp BEFORE you told us.
Gorgeous layout. I agree that paper is beautiful and you have accessorized it just perfectly. Loved the thread winder card and the sewing machine stamps...they have made up into fabulous embellishments.
you did a great job on that dress...I told you that when you showed that photo before...and your layout just shows it off so nicely!
That looks very nice, glad my photo taking was up to scratch. See you soon at Quilting X
WOW. really beautiful lay out! stitching, stamping, threats, fabric--I love that aqua color too! and your dress is lovely. I love everything about this! thanks for sharing...happy T day a bit late...
Incredible layout Hetti! I like the fact that you slightly hid the journaling part, but it is still there to remind you what you used. I agree you WILL use that stamp set a lot.
Belated Tea wishes.
Great layout, and totally get the hidden journaling! The stamp set is cute & I love that you incorporated the fabric as week

Great dress and I totally agree that a small mug of tea is a waste. However, I do fondly recall my many years of drinking my tea from a cup and saucer.
Hi sam ... I got slightly distracted by the previous chicken post .. ha ha
anyway great page so many pretty elements

just poppin' back across to say teeehee about rawing. The fellow behind us orders his wife about and has tried it on with some of the neighbours, us included the first year. We put in that big hedge to screen him out as it is uncomfortable to listen to!
He is just cranky all he time I think!
It is smaller IRL. I think the photos made it seem bigger! The bedroom does have a lovely wall of closets behind where I was standing, and a cute little feature that would help you understand just how small it is.The feature is "nightable shelves" on each side of the bed. Basically they are a small piece of cultured stone the size of a large coffee mug! They are mounted to the walls like a shelf. They are to place your glasses and watch or a glass of water! teehee
Maybe one day you will be a guest in the bunkie if all goes well! We are changing the futon bunk out nedt year to a queen size real bed. Daughter and Little Miss C will share it and Little Mr P still on the mattress on the floor. When he gets too tall for it, we will give them the trailer and we will take the bunkie...that is what we do when my SIL comes too!
Not only is your dress lovely, but your page is great. How clever to add some of the dress fabric to tie it to the photo. So many neat details!
I remember seeing the dress photo earlier in the Summer, it is so nice, and how lovely to see the picture on a beautiful layout. I really like the stithching you've incorporated onto the page and I think it'a a clever idea to have the journaling tucked behind the photo.
Thank you for your comment on my post too. Happy T day :D
Very nice layout Hettie!!! I remember the dress from when you posted it before and I still like it.... maybe I should drag my sewing machine out and make something wild and fun for "ME" :)
It's a gorgeous LO and a gorgeous dress, Sam, you are so clever. That paper is lovely, it's so hard to use it when you love it isn't it, but you've left enough showing to really appreciate it. love it.
And I really envy your skills as a dressmaker, it's something I've never mastered despite my Mum making lots of clothes including my wedding dress...that particular skill obviously doesn't run in the family!!
Just have to say, funnily enough, I have some scrapbook paper in the same pattern as your dress!
Hugs Lisax
Lovely layout for a super photo, Sam. That paper is indeed gorgeous and your embellishments work very well with it. I like the addition of stamping too ... something I've been trying to include more in my scrapbook pages recently. Wonderful dress too ... love the fabric and the style. Elizabeth xx
Oh wow.. what great idea to use the fabric of your beautiful dress for the layout! This is the most beautiful interaction of different hobbies ! GORGEOUS!

What a fabulous layout.
Love all the sewing details .. .. and your fabby dress!!
I think you will get lots of use out of that stamp set!
Have a great weekend.
Love Jules xx
The layout is just as beautiful as your dress! I love that so much of the paper design is still on view and the things you used to embellish this page - f.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c.! Karen x
Gorgeous... :-)
