Hi there
Sorry I haven't been around much today. I went out to see to my Girls this morning to find a buzzard had murdered my lovely Hilda. The Girls have not ventured out of the coop much today and are very nervous of any noise around them. The buzzard has been seen around and I have been like a nervous wreck. Such a sad day for us all.
RIP Hilda. Her time with us was way too short and she was just coming out of her shell and jumping on our laps. So sad.

Oh Sam,
I am so sorry to hear of this.
I know how much they must mean to you, as I have another blog friend who keeps hens and is also very fond of them, and she lost one of hers through illness a while back after thinking she was getting better.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Oh, Sam, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm not a bit surprised that The Girls are nervous after witnessing what happened to Hilda ... hope the buzzard moves on soon. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
So sad and sorry for your loss of a much loved part of the family.
We have been taking the Cattery pens today as without Whimpy they were not needed anymore. The end of an era. Hug Mrs A.
So sorry for your loss and unsurprised about the girlies nervousness since then.

Oh Sam, as I said on FB - so very sad :( We had a sparrow caught before our eyes in the back garden by a sparrowhawk the other day and even that was devastating, let alone your lovely and becoming tame Hilda.
Keep your chin up honey, remember that she did have some (albeit) brief happy times with you and Simon. Just a shame that Nature is so darned cruel :(
Love and BIG hugs
Di xx
The balance of nature is beyond cruel at times, but I'm so sorry for your loss :( Poor Hilda ........((hugs))
Poor Hilda...I am so sorry to hear this. The poor other chickens will need lots of cuddling!
So sorry to hear about Hilda!
Oh Sam, Sam, Sam . . . as you know, I am terribly sorry to hear about the sad loss of Hilda. Least she had a good (if brief) life with you.
Big big hugs going your way, Sarn xxx
