Happy Rudolph Day Everyone!!
Yep! It is 25th July today and that means Rudolph Day with my friend Sandra at Stamping for Pleasure. Why not get a head start with your Christmas (woops - I used the C word) cards and make one, post it on your blog and link it HERE. It will be round the corner before you know it.
Here is mine this month....
(Sorry about the wonky photographing but it was tricky to photograph to get the colours right so Hubby put it on his car bonnet!)
I cut some shapes out with cardstock using Spellbinders dies, inked the background with Distress Inks, stamped a background and then used my Sheena Douglass Christmas Rose stamps and the Paint Fusion technique with Pebeo paints to create the individual pieces. Once it was all dry I stamped and embossed a swirl stamp using bronze embossing powder.
I then took some Snippets (the brown was left over from Tuesday's scrapbook layout) and then stamped and embossed, using Darkroom Door stamps and the bronze embossing powder again on the top and bottom pieces. The middle piece I cut out on white and stamped in green DI. I then used ribbon to go through the middle of the panels and adhered using glue. Once these were adhered I then added the back pieces on to make a hanging.
I will then write my message on the middle piece, pop it in an envelope and it all folds flat for posting. This also includes some NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff!) - yeay! The stamps were desperate to be abused with ink!!
I am also going to pop this into the Playground as there are a few Snippets here, and also because I won the Sheena Douglass stamps at the Playground.
Thanks for calling by. You have a week to join in so off you go and make a card. There is also a lovely stamp which you can be in with a chance to win.
Hugs
Hettie

What a different idea for a card, they are beautiful and love the way they fold flat.
Sure it wasn't the mojito's that were causing the blurred photo's lol
Good luck with RD xxx
Bootiful Hettie. Loving those Sheena stamps and what a novel way to show em off. I need to go and lie down in a dark room for a bit cos I had a nasty shock earlier(apart from finding out it was Rudolph day that is). I have a Doppelganger in Oz and she keeps chickens too. This is all too much.
Hugs Mrs A. (the real one).
And I thought it was due to camera shake cos of all the window washing and your arms were tired! Love this idea. Something different from the norm...always up my ally.
Looks wonderful to me... I always love a Christmas project!
How is the painting coming along...Just be sure to rest in between each window as you are going to need extra energy soon...for all that friving you will be doing...
Crafty Hugs my friend...

SO lovely - and you can never upset me by using the C word!
Such a delicious hanging, Sam - I love the bright fresh greens, the subtle backgrounds, and the lovely lovely flower paintings.

This is beautiful! I finally got some Pebeo paints for my birthday and now I'm going to have to practise a lot - cos I really want to be able to do Paint Fusion!
I want to make a couple of small Xmas gifts so I got to get practising now! Karen x
Oh, so pretty. I declare, I think your painting gets better every time. Such a lovely piece, Sam!

What an amazing Christmas card, Hettie! Yes, I use that C word often. I love Christmas cards all year round! I love this hanging and think it will make a wonderful Christmas decoration or anytime decoration. The recipient will be very lucky indeed! Don't let the water guns spoil it now!
This is absolutely gorgeous Sam. You are so talented x
Hi Sam, Your projects are simply gorgeous. Read through the How-to, and lots of new things to google and find out (Peabo paints, fusion, Oh my). Especially loved the green & white one. Both are lovely though. TFS & sorry to be so late in commenting.
