Hello there Peeps
Can you believe we are at the end of June already? No, me neither!!!! Only five more to go until the Big One!!
I don't have cards to show you this month but I do have a Christmas project that I made for someone special. I gave it to her now as I am not sure if I will see her before the Big Day as we don't get much chance to visit.
Wanna see it? Course you do....
And here is the back...
Not the best photos as the light was behind the candle.
I took a piece of recycled tissue paper and stamped it using Ranger Archival in Potting Shed and my Inkadinkadoo and Tim Holtz stamps. I then wrapped the tissue around the candle and gently warmed it and applied the paper very slowly and gently.
Now all I need is a visit to Ikea and I will have a few more Christmas gifts ready!!
Thanks for calling by. Off to join Maureen for the Rudolph Day Challenge. Better late than never ey!!

Friday Smiles with a Friday Funny too!
Hello
As those of you who have stumbled across my blog on a Friday will know, I usually share a joke or two with you and link up with Annie for her Friday Smiles. This Friday I am going to share with you some smiles from the past two weeks. I hope you don't mind. But for those of you who would just like to see the Friday Funny then shoot down below.
Firstly a very good blogging friend of mine visited and we went to Hay on Wye for the day...
(Thanks to our photographer for taking this photo!)
We then went back to Chez Hettie where I caught Sandra sitting at my desk peeking at my journal...
It was my birthday last week and I have been blessed to receive a plethora of hand made birthday from blogging friends far and wide. Each card makes me smile and I thank you one and all.
Also in the post recently was this little beauty from Debbie Rock of Tattered Rocks....
Isn't it just wonderful? I absolutely love it and cannot begin to wonder how much time Debbie took to create this for me.
On Monday of this week I took a little jaunt to meet our very own Annie and her sister Twiglet (I never did find out how Jo got this name!).
See how Fergus has photobombed this picture!! Typical!
I have saved the funniest photo until last...
I promise you no alcohol had been consumed....these two do not need it!! They were both as lovely in real life as they are on their blogs. There was no shyness and we all got on so well and are all looking forward to meeting up again.
My thanks go to Julia of WOYWW fame who brought me to these wonderful people.
Now for the Friday Funny....
THESE REALLY WORK!!
1. TO AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES, GET SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.
2. TO AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT- USE THE SINK.
3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. [REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.]
4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.
5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES - YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.
6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.
7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
DAILY THOUGHT:
SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING, BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU PUSH THEM DOWN THE STAIRS.
I am joining in with Annie this week. Thank you for staying with me in this long post. Have a great weekend.

WOYWW 316 - Sat at the Sewing Desk today....
Hello there!!
Now let us see if I have internet for more than five minutes today shall we?
Hello there and Welcome to One and All to my Humble desk today. Today is Wednesday and I am joining in on WOYWW!! Today I am viewing life from the Sewing Desk!!
What happened was....... I spotted a Pin on Pinterest...... I am having
too many of those moments aren't you? Well, going back to my story, I
saw a Pin and Pinned it. Then I had the opportunity to order more Sizzix
dies for the quilting group I belong to and chose some that I wanted
including a triangle. Well, a week last Sunday (15th), when I had
nothing better to do I decided to play with the triangle die so that I
can show other members of the group a way of using the die and a quilt was
born.
Do you like my new mug? I love it. It was a birthday present from my buddie and it is perfect for preventing threads and pins landing in my tea! For the eagle eyed among you, yes I am using Christmas fabrics!!
After just 9 days I have made 43 blocks!! This quilting malarky is addictive and FUN!! Here are some of the blocks waiting to be sewn together. I will share the finished quilt top when it is all stitched together which will hopefully be before Saturday (I want to take it to quilting).
Well that is it from my desk today except to show you a pic of the two WOYWWers I was lucky enough to meet up with on Monday....
Yes, our very own Wispo and Twiglet. They are as lovely IRL as I hoped. Can you believe they dragged me kicking and screaming into a fabric shop? Yep, I really did not want to go in there!! Thank you ladies.
I have a photo of someone else at my desk from recent weeks, and fear not I will share that with you again....that camera is not handy and I am losing the will to live to download the photo to my computer and blog!!
Off to join the WOYWWers minus the Leader Julia as she is of on her jolly holidays. You would think she would invite us wouldn't you!
Catch you later!!

Friday Funny
Paddy had long heard
the stories of an amazing family tradition.
It seems that his father, grandfather and
great-grandfather had all been
able to walk on water on their 18th birthday.
On that special day, they'd each walked
across the lake to the pub on the far
side for their first legal drink.
So when Paddy's 18th birthday came around,
he and his pal Mick, took
a boat out to the middle of the lake, Paddy stepped out of the boat ....and nearly drowned!
Mick just barely managed to pull him to safety.
Furious and confused, Paddy went to see his
grandmother ..
"Grandma,"
he asked, "Tis me 18th birthday, so
why can't I walk across
the lake like me father, his father and his father before him?"
Granny looked deeply into Paddy's,
troubled blue eyes and said,
"Because ye
father, ye grandfather and ye great-grandfather....
were all born in December, when the lake
is frozen, and ye were born in
August, ya fookin idiot!"
Joining in with Annie for my Friday Smiles.

Happy Birthday Steph...
Hello there
How ya doing Folks?
Now we are finally having what we can call a summer, though there are some intermittent dull days mixed in. At least on those days we can leave the watering to nature!!
I want to share a birthday card I made for a good friend a little while ago...
I used my lovely Artistic Stamper stamps and a mixture of Distress Inks including Antique Linen, Peeled paint and Gathered twigs as well as Potting Shed Archival ink. For the marigolds I coloured them in with Copics.
The base paper is some which I received as a freebie from Prima. Most of the pieces were from the Snippets drawers and the leaves die cuts were from my Tin of Shame. A little piece of ribbon to finish it off and I am now taking this down to the Snippets Playground. I am also going to share this with the Artistic Outpost Challenge too.
Thanks for calling by.

Happy Birthday ...NBUS Lavinia Stamps
Hello
Did ya miss me? I took a week off blogging to play catch up with things as well as to see if my headaches that I have been having lately are computer related. I was working all day on the computer and then again for a lot of the evenings so I decided it was time to ease off. I am going to limit myself to just a few evenings a week while the summer is here so I can do some jobs that are required outside.
I hope you have all had a good weekend. Mine was fab, having met up with a Playground friend of mine. We took a trip to Hay on Wye and had a lovely time wandering round in the light showers that were taking place. Such a shame as driving down the Capel y Ffin is not as good in the mist. Ho hum!
Right then onto today's share with you. I made this card some time ago and am only now getting round to sharing it with you. The stars stamp was new at the time I made it.
I masked off a panel in order to ink the green panel with Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint DIs. Once dried I stamped the Lavinia Flower Fairy with Archival Ink as was the Penny Black HB.

As mentioned previously, the stars stamp was new. I was lucky enough to win a voucher for the Craft Barn where I bought this stamp (amongst a few other things!) I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed with WOW Sparkling Snow embossing powder.
I am entering this into the That's Crafty Challenge...they are looking for glittery cards and the stars do sparkle.
Thanks for calling by. I look forward to receiving your comments.

Friday Funny...
Subject: The Lie detector
FATHER BUYS A LIE DETECTOR ROBOT THAT SLAPS PEOPLE WHEN THEY LIE
He decides to test it out at dinner one night.
The father asks his son what he did that afternoon.
The son says, "I did some homework."
The robot slaps the son.
The son says, "Ok, Ok. I was at a friend's house watching movies."
Dad asks, "What movie did you watch?"
Son says, "Toy Story.”
The robot slaps the son.
Son says, "Ok, Ok, we were watching porn."
Dad says, "What? At your age I didn't even know what porn was."
The robot slaps the father.
Mum laughs and says, "Well, he's certainly your son."
The robot slaps the mother.

Friday Funny
"The beach was too sandy"
THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:
1. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."
2. "It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time—this should be banned."
3. "On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don't like spicy food."
4. "We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price."
5. "The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room."
6. "We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."
7. "They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."
8. "No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared."
9. "Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg- slicer in the drawers."
10. "We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish."
11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."
12. "It took us 9 hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only 3 hours to get home. This seems unfair."
13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."
14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort.' We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service."
15. "When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."
16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."
17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."
18. "I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."
19. "My fiancee and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."
BE AWARE...SOME OF THEM WALK AMONG US and THEY VOTE!
