Mojo Monthly - Make mine a Tag!

Hello Peeps

My lovely friend Sarah over at La-De-Dah runs a Mojo Monthly which I frequently take part in and this month the theme is Tags and Tagology.  If you click on the link in my sidebar or HERE you can read her interview with Dan and see some of his and her lovely work in her Mojo Monthly post.

So in true Blue Peter fashion, here are some tags which I have made into money envelopes in readiness for Christmas using the humble tag. This also means that I can join in with Sandra and here Rudolph Day Challenge too!

The tags are all decorated the same yet different.  I have used the same layout but different background colours
They hold money in nicely!  A lot of people prefer to give/receive money at Christmas and these tags make them more of a present rather than putting the money into an envelope.

I really like this Walton style truck image into which I have popped some Christmas trees in the boot.

Some ribbon attached to tie the flap down and that is the present complete. Oh!  Don't forget to put the money in.  You could also put small items of jewellery wrapped in tissue paper in there too.

Hope you like and don't forget there is still time (just) to join in on either Challenge!

Hugs

Friday Snippets - Birthday Cards

Evening Peeps

Well, it is Friday so time for my Friday Snippets in order to get chance to have another play in the Playground with the lovely Di.  I have three birthdays this weekend in the office so had to make some cards for the Birthday Peeps.  The top two were for my Boss and work colleague...

And this one was for Jackie.  She is one of my regular egg buyers and always brings chipboard and boxes for me just in case I can upcycle them.  Bless her. This is the first time I have made a card like this and it was all thanks to my Buddy Sandra who posted a tutorial HERE! Thanks Buddy!

Jackie's card was made using Snippets left over from my Scrappy Tuesday layout and the other corresponding layout which I will show you in the next day or so.none of it even made it into the Snippets Box!

All images coloured with Copics.

Here's hoping you have a crafty weekend.  Me, I am going down to my buddy Lesley's to play with paper goodness to make a mini book, dancing and then back to play with paper at Lesley's!  Why not gather up some Snippets and make a card or something, post it on your blog, and link it up to Di's and that way you can reduce some of your Snippets pile!

Don't forget to let me know you have been.

Happy Rudolph Day - Tag This!!

Hello Peeps

My lovely friend Sandra is now on the fourth Rudolph Day of the year and I am loving the fact that she is prompting me to get some Christmas cards ready nice and early this year.

This month I decided, like Sandra, that I would get some tags made as they often end up being rushed at the last minute.  Well, I sat down on the weekend and started stamping up my stamp, and stamped, and stamped and before I knew it I had 30 odd stampings done.  And what was great was that all the stampings were done on cardstock from my Snippets box.  I then set about colouring them in, much to the bemusement of my Boss when he came in my office during my lunchbreaks in the early part of the week!

Once I had coloured them in I set about raiding my Snippets box again and set about die cutting tags to adhere the stampings on.  Again, I took these in to work to complete!!  Well, who wants to walk around the town centre in the pouring rain?  There are no craft shops nearby anyway!

How colour co-ordinated are these snowmen!!

Hubby then helped me raid my ribbon tin in which I keep all the odd bits so I could attach ribbons and hey presto, mission accomplished.

Right then. Why don't you dig out your Christmas stamps and papers and make yourselves a card or two or even (35) tags so they can be ready and waiting for you to breeze through the pre-Christmas season smug in the knowledge that you have cards and tags all ready to use (provided you can remember where you have put them of course!).  Upload them to your blog and link them with Sandra and who knows, you may even win the set of stamps on offer this month.

Merry Rudolph Day and apologies to Sandra for not linking this up yesterday.  I have had a bit of a hectic week this week, a dancing social until (very) late on Tuesday night, and then dancing last night. My poor little feet are glad of the rest tonight.

Please feel free to leave me a comment so I know you have been.

Scrappy Tuesday - Dream a little Dream

Hello Peeps

Oops!  I know it is Wednesday but here is my Scrappy Tuesday posting for this week. I had every intention of posting this yesterday but you see, I was out last night - dancing the night away.  I was picked up at 6.30pm and did not get home until 11.45pm.  On a School Night too!  I know! I know!  It was rather good though and it is sooo nice to be back on the dancing scene once more.

Anyways, on to the purpose of today's posting.......my layout......

Our little Dobby sitting at the window in my Craft Room watching the world go by.  He started to pop in to my room when I was in ther so got him another cushion so he would be comfy!  All the creature comforts for the pooch ey!  Actually, I do like to sit there myself sometimes with a well earned cuppa and have been known to pull the cushion out of the way to take photos of pieces on the floor as the light is sooo good!

The majority of the papers are Echo Park - Love them!  The lampost is a Kaisercraft stamp. The paper which is not Echo Park are from the scrapbox so I am going to be cheeky and put this into the Snippets Playground.  Why not join us and use your snippets.  We have swings, roundabouts and now a BRAND NEW Go-Kart track (all virtual of course!).

This layout was actually in a kit but unfortunately when I came to sit down to create it there were several sheets of paper missing.  I promise I had not opened the kit beforehand.  So I added some papers of my own and also jiggled things around a bit (including changing the stamped image from the original) so it is not exactly the same now and am liking it.

It is Rudolph Day so Happy Rudolph Day to you all!  You can join in there too.  You just need to make something in readiness for Christmas whether it be a card or tags or anything else.

Thanks for calling by and please let me know you have been by leaving a message.

I also want to say "Hi" to my two latest followers Heidi and Rita.  Thank you for following me.

Hugs to you all

CC2C #2 - Time - ATC

Hello there

This week our Lovely Leader Linda Ledbetter (sorry, was on an L roll!) asked us to turn to page 58 of Tim Holtz's new Compendium of Curiosities and play with our alcohol inks - Yippee!  Do go over to see Linda's blog as she has a visitor Angie Lentz who has a beautiful piece. I have to say that my photos are a little more bluey than they are in real life.  Hmmn!

I am not allowed to tell you what I have done to create this piece but I can tell you what the theme is.  Time and how we are slaves to it.  We get up with the alarm, we clock into work, we take elevenses, we have lunchtime, then it is teatime, then hometime, and bedtime.  Can you see a theme?  Hence why when Hubby and I go on holiday the only important times are the flights otherwise we ignore the watches!!
No matter what angle I took the photo I had difficulty capturing the perfect pearl mist.

I have learnt something tonight, if you create a patch of Picket Fence to stamp on then stamp with coffee archival ink, then spray with perfect pearls mist then it disappears!  Therefore, stamp after the perfect pearls mist has been applied.

Here's hoping you have a good week!  Please do not forget to leave me a comment.

Hugs

Hettie

Buzzzzzzz!! Scrapbook Layout

Good Evening Peeps

I thought that I would share with you another one of my layouts from the Retreat which I went to recently.  The subject is one of Hubby's Bees which he photographed in February last year.  The white in the background of the photograph are the snowdrops which were out at the time.  Hope you approve....

I am sorry I cannot tell you any details of the paper make but you may recognise them as some of the papers from which I created the Snippets for my card which I posted yesterday.

I hope you are having a great crafty weekend.  Today I attended a quilting workshop  where we worked on a block with a fabulous technique which I will, of course, share with you just as soon as it is finished enough for me to show you.

I understand the weather forecast for tomorrow is great if you are in a drought area and fantastic if you were thinking of having a crafting day!  What a shame!!  Guess you will find me in my room!!  (Yeay! Doing the Happy Dance!!!)

Friday Snippets - I can do non-inkey!

Good Evening Peeps and Happy Friday!

Time for my Friday Snippets with the Lovely Di in the Playground this week.  I am afraid I only have the one this week to show you.  This card is for my good friend Stephanie whose birthday it was on Monday.  Hope you approve.  Stephanie liked it....

This card came about thanks to a friend of mine who plays in the Playground who, when we were talking about a card workshop that was coming up told me that it "probably wouldn't be inky enough 4 u anyway"!! You know who you are!  So that set me off thinking and this is what I came up with .  The only bit of inking is on the tag which is a stamp.  All the rest are leftovers from a layout I did on the retreat.

Why not head over to Di's and join in the Snippets Challenge.  Come on, we know you have snippets which are collecting dust in the corner now.

See you by the go-kart shed!

Have a great crafting weekend.

Hugs

Let's Hear it for CC2C! Yeay!

Howdy there Peeps

The Lovely Linda has launched the CC2C (Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge) as of last Friday and I am very pleased to be able to join in this time round.  By the time I discovered the original CCC it had been going some time and so I didn't join in.  Then Linda organised the Grungy Monday so I was able to join in those which I thoroughly enjoyed and now I am pleased to be in at the start of CC2C.  And this week Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring the Challenge.  Woo Hoo!

I am not allowed to tell you what the technique is but I can tell you that it is to be found on Page 66 (lovely number!) and it involves home made stamps!

So here it is.....

I have used a plethora of inky products including Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Forest Moss), reinkers (cannot remember what colours as they were mixes I made for the Creative Chemistry 101 Class and included Perfect Pearls!), Pin, Embossing ink, embossing powder, distressing tool, sentiment stamp by Darkroom Door, nature stamps by Hero Arts.

I hope you can see the shimmer on this tag as it sure looks better in real life.

If you have the new Compendium of Curiosities, why not join in on the challenge?  It would be lovely to see you.

WOYWW 150 - Monkey Business!

Hello Peeps

Yeay! It is Wednesday so Happy WOYWW Day! Happy Wednesday! Happy Hump Day (however you want to read that!).

It is time for the weekly blog hop with the lovely Miss Dunnit where we all show off our desks and hop around the world viewing other desks and leaving comments!  Whether they be tidy, messy, on the floor, in the bedroom, in a shed, it doesn't matter.  Just take a photo of your desk, put it on your blog, link your post HERE and we will all come and have an official "nosey".

Here is mine.  Relatively tidy this week as I had just finished my CC2C piece.

However, I popped downstairs for 5 mins and came back to find Monkey playing with his new favourite toy!  Bless 'im!  Perhaps he is planning on decorating my room when I am not looking!
Though I think he gets a little help from his friends to operate the punch! But we musn't let on that we know ey!

Rightio.  Work. Dancing and then I will be able to join in so please leave me a message so I know you have been and I will pop by at some point to do the same for you.  Maybe I will not get there tonight but I will come and visit!

Scrappy Tuesday - Team Elliott

Hello Peeps

Don't know what sort of weather you are having in your part of the world but boy it is wierd here.  One minute it is tipping down with rain, next it is sunny, next it is blowing a gale and the next it looks like sleet coming down!!  Four seasons weather my father-in-law used to call it - Bless Him!

Well today is Tuesday and that means it is time for Scrappy Tuesday, even though I have had a bit of a Scrappy Monday this week too.  Thanks to you all for your lovely comments on yesterday's post.  It was lovely to hear from so many of you.  I love getting comments!  They mean alot to me!

Anyways.  Here is tonight's scrapbook layout.  Another one which I completed on the retreat I was on last month with the lovely ladies of Pennally.  Yes!  That is ME driving our Jeep.  As you can see we had more than a little snow on the ground and Hubby decided it was high time I learnt to drive the Jeep up and down our country lane instead of making him drive it.  My excuse is that I have never had a vehicle with low box and diff lock and all that techno stuff in before.  My lovely car I drive in has Economy, Sport and Winter settings however she does not go out in the snow as I am afraid of someone driving into her!! (Note to self - Ask Hubby to give her a good clean and polish so I can get some nice piccies of her for her layout.)  Oops, I digress.  Here is the layout...

Right, off to play with my CC2C for this week.  I started it last night but it took so long to upload the photos as they kept stopping that I lost the will to carry on!

Enjoy your evening and see you all soon.

Hugs

Happy Birthday to my Darling Hubby!

Good Evening Peeps
I will warn you now this is a picture heavy post so if you wish to go and make a cuppa before you start reading, I will not be offended in the slightest!
Today xxx (put in your own figure here) years ago, my lovely Hubby was born.  And long before I met him he was involved in local Hospital Radio.  Unfortunately due to working committments he is no longer involved but whilst he was involved he, and ultimately I, have had some very funny and memorable moments. So with this in mind I set about making Hubby a birthday present.
It all started when I first went to Cornwall on a Scrapbooking Retreat with Just Scrapbooking and I saw a layout which Linda had done using an LP.  Little bell started dingelinelinging (is that a word? It is now).  So one day I happened to be selling at a car boot sale and someone was selling LPs and coloured ones to boot.  So I offered him £1 for a red LP.  He refused.  I went away.  Later I passed the seller, he came down in price.  I offered him £1.  I went away.  Then he came to me at the end of the day and asked me if I still wanted it and I offered him the same £1.  He relented.  Then he asked me why I wanted a red one.  So I told him.  His face was a picture and he told me it was a mint LP, never played and was worth more than £1.  I politely told him that the LP was now mine, having paid him £1, and that I could now do whatever I chose to do with it!
So the LP sat in my craft room calling to me.
I have recently started taking my photos out of photograph albums as some of them are starting to deteriorate and moving them into a storage system which I bought HERE.  However, all the photos connected with PYF Hospital Radio I stashed elsewhere.  Until about 10 days ago.  A little plan formulated in my head and hey presto, this is what has happened to those photographs and the LP....

If you want to skip to the end and leave me a comment so I know you have been to see me, please feel free to do so as I thought I might show you some close ups of my favourite bits.

Thanks for bearing with me (that is a little more than I can say for Blogger!    I hope my little bit of craziness has inspired you to do something of your own.  Please let me know as I would love to see what you come up with.

Don't forget to leave me a message so I know you have been.

Hugs

Chicken Card for Chook Man - Snippets

Good Evening Peeps

I hope you have had a good weekend.  I spent yesterday with my Hubby celebrating his birthday as he will be working on nights tomorrow. He wanted some beekeeping sort of stuff for his birthday so we went to Maisemore to buy it.  As it was not too far from Stroud my lovely Hubby took a detour so that I could pop into Paperarts.  Bless 'im.  I picked up some new My Minds Eye papers and some other bits 'n pieces so expect to see them appear on here son.

Today I have been playing in my lovely new greenhouse.  It is not technically "new" but it is certainly new to me, not having had a greenhouse before.  I have been sowing some seeds and in the sun it was certainly nice and cosy in there!

Here we are on a Sunday evening and I have made a birthday card for my lovely Hubby for his birthday tomorrow, and the card is from, yes, you have guessed it - the Chickens!!  Very silly I know but hey-ho!  He is worth it!!  Hope you like it...

To boot, this card means some more paper out of the Snippet box!  Woo Hoo!  You should see how much is in the box!!    A nice early visit to the Playground for me this week and Yes, I know it isn't Friday yet!!

If you saw my post yesterday, I am pleased to report that Hubby loved the "Album" and I will be able to share it with you all tomorrow. I want to photograph it in the daylight in the morning.

Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Please leave me a comment so I know you have been to see me!

Hugs

Hettie

Edit:  P.S.  Following a complaint from someone about the colour of my text, I have had to come in and change the colour.  Hope you approve!!

Missing in Actio - Mystery Present!

Hello Peeps

I just wanted to put my head above the parapet, and let you know why I have been kinda quiet this week.  You see it is Hubby's birthday on Monday.  Unfortunately he is working so he is having his birthday today. I have been working hard on his Birthday present for the last week or so, which I have been planning and making in secret.  I cannot quite show you the whole thing but here are some small peeks of it.  If Birthday Boy lets me I will show you the rest once he has received and opened it...................

Have a great weekend.

Friday Snippets - Mandy's card

Hello Peeps!  Happy Friday to One and All and here's hoping you all have a GREAT weekend lined up!!

It is Friday night so that means I get to go down to the Snippets Playground.  Sorry Miss Di, I am afraid I only have one Snippet card to show you tonight as I have been rather tied up (not literally Di!) with a project for my Lovely Hubby who's birthday it is on Monday.  Due to him having to work on Monday we are celebrating his birthday tomorrow (bit like the Queen with two birthdays!), so I have been shut in my room and he has been under strict instructions NOT to come in!

On Tuesday it was my dear Buddy Mandy's birthday so I made a card for her.  Some elements of her card was Snippets (chipboard Flutterbies, the flower and purple card behind the sentiment) so I am entering it into Di's Snippets Challenge.  I hope you like and approve......

The sentiment inside was one which was sent to me by another Dear Buddy.  You know who you are my Dear!  Poor Mandy had a very purple themed birthday as it was her I had made the Purple box for HERE which I had filled in with some lovely ribbons.  I also bought her a plant to which I had tied a garland of butterflies (can you see a trend to the colour scheme?) which is now in her daughter's bedroom.  Just as well Mandy likes purple ey!!

Right.  I can just about smell my sausages sizzling downstairs so had better go down and eat them before the birthday boy bangs on the ceiling downstairs with a broom handle!  The kitchen is directly under my Craft Room!!

Have a great weekend and don't forget you have until Saturday night to join in at the Snippets Playground.  See you on the roundabout.  I will be wearing the chicken wellies as it is a little damp here!!

Hugs
