12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 10 - Vintage

Hello Friends

Time is getting closer to the Big Day and also the deadline for Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge!  It is just as well I joined in this year with Sandra's Rudolph Day every month as I would normally be panicking now trying to get Christmas cards made.  However, I do have some cards to make but just the Family cards and I have until Christmas Eve to get those complete!

So here is Linda's Tag 10 for the 12 Tags of Christmas... 

I loved this tag as soon as I saw it as it reminds me of a quilt I made some years ago and no doubt it will be hanging up again by the end of this week.  It is a red brick quilt with "snow" on the top and I made it to represent the Chimney that Santa will be coming down!  I also love the Vintage image on the bauble but I had a stamp crying out to be inked up for this.  Here is mine.......

Again I have made the tag with SU Vanilla cardstock and TH die.  I have used the TH Embossing folder of brick using Red Brick Distress Ink and I edged it with Vintage Photo DI.  I don't own the "snow" folder but I improvised by cutting some out on the Silhouette and covering it with Rock Candy Distress Stickles.  Before attaching any of the embellishments to the tag I gave it a spritz of Perfect Pearls mist in Forever Red.  

The two boys image is from Artistic Outpost and was stamped in Coffee Archival Ink.  The coloured parts were coloured with Copics and the buttons have had a little Glossy Accents on them to make them stand out.  The background to the image and the Holly leaves is a Snippet of paper that I was playing with when I first had Alcohol Inks and was experimenting with cartridge paper.  The stamped image on there is Hero Arts Holly.  Once I had joined these two pieces I Cropadiled a hole and added a little burlap.

The Merry Christmas piece is a K&Co chipboard piece.  I decided to use some Rosettes that I had made for another project rather than a Poinsettia just because I liked the look and the shimmering of Perfect Pearls on there.  The ribbon behind the Rosette flower was given to me by a Lovely Lady.  To cut the Holly leaves, I had a little brainwave.  None of my stamp Holly leaves were big enough but I remembered I had a holly cookie cutter, so I inked it with ink, "stamped" the reverse of the paper, cleaned the cookie cutter straight away and then trimmed the image, making the spikes more spikey!!

Right, Tag No 11 needs to be done today, whilst helping Hubby with the bathroom job!  I cannot wait for that to be done so I can light the fire!!

Christmas Presents...

Hello Peeps

Recently on my Desk on WOYWW I had some books as WIP.  I thought I would share them with you.  The blue one is my friend Stephanie's, a Quilting friend's,Christmas present.......

Papers are DCWV which I have had for ages and ages and ages.......  The base of the book and the TH mannequin are both cut from chipboard and painted with acrylic paint.  The mannequin is then stamped with TH flourish stamp.  The edges of the background cardstock is stamped with DI and flourish stamp (forgotten which make and my Craft Room is too cold for me to look in now).

The inside pages are made with pockets so that Stephanie can pop in notes, patterns, instructions etc....

The "lace" is TH die using the Snippets cut from the front cover sheet.

Here is the purple book which I will use as another Christmas present....

I cannot remember which paper this was and the darker pink in the flower is the reverse side.  The stamps used are the same and paint is lilac.  I have also used Snippets of lace on the mannequins. 

Similar interiors, though I need to add the card inserts in...

The TH Rosettes were left over from my Christmas Tree project, though they are flat.  The "Roses" were cut using Snippets and TH Pinecone die.  

I am entering this into the Playground as I have used some Snippets.

Tag 4 - A little bit of Country

Brrrrrrr!  My phone this morning says -3 feels like -6!  Yep!  It certainly feels like jumping back into bed cold this morning.  I just wonder how my girls are in their coup!  

Over at The Funkie Junkie Linda's Tag 4 has a little Country feel to it.  So as usual I will show you Linda's tag first.....

Isn't it just divine?  I love how Linda displays her tags and I am trying to find a new way of displaying mine for photographs too, but I have to take the photos in my bay window in the lounge as that is the best place for light.  Let's see ey.

So here is my tag....

I changed the background colour as I wanted to try my new Festive Berries DI out that was screaming to be let out of the cellophane and so I stamped the background with my Wendy Vecchi stamp.  Love it.  So then I had to think which embossing folder I wanted to use and the Christmas Tree kept coming to the forefront as I was going through my embossing folder drawer, so out it came.  I used Cordinations cardstock and then sanded the edges a little and inked a little Vintage Photo for the trunks. I stamped the Crafty Individuals Believe stamp and tore the individual word out, inked the torn edges with Vintage Photo DI, added some Stickles on the dot of the i, and adhered it onto a rosette that happened to be in my Snippets box.

Whilst I was rummaging in my Snippets box I came across the mini reindeer which I had cut when my friend was up some time ago (note to self, get this mini die).  I stamped it with my TH flourish stamp and Festive Berries again and then swooshed some gold perfect pearls on there. I then had an idea to get the Rock Candy Distress Stickles on top, which I did and also the trees.  Unfortunately I am not sure the photo picks this up very well.  A little Snippet of lace at the bottom and a piece of holly cut with my TH Lamp post die and the tiniest Snippet of red SU pleated ribbon on the left.  Instead of using the berries from the die I wanted to add glass beads to give a little more dimension to counterbalance the rosette.

I stamped my TH Post Card stamp with Archival ink then quickly decided to add clear embossing powder to make it stand out a little more.  I distressed the edges using the TH distressing tool, and inked with Vintage Photo DI,  added some Snippets of ribbon and hey presto Tag 4 was complete!

So that is now 5 tags done, just 7 to go.  As I have some play time tomorrow I shall try and maybe do another one or two tags.  I will be very happy once I am over the half way mark!
