Christmas Cards IV - More Recycling!

Hello There

Here we are again, Sunday night and having to pack away the weekend ready to go to work tomorrow!  This weekend has gone whoosh as it flew past me!!

Anyhoo!  Before I exchange my comfie clothes for my office suit I thought I would share some more Snippets Christmas cards with you.....

Love this carrollers die from Mr Holtz.  I managed to borrow this from Lesley when she came up recently.  Not a very good short unfortunately? But you get the drift!  The holly was cut with an old XCut punch.  Perfect size don't you think?

Another Snippet card using the pieces from the album which I made a few years ago, with some red card out of the Snippets box.  Punched on the corners, some doodling, ribbon and pearls.  The Sentiment is a stamp which has been embossed with red embossing powder.  The reindeer was made from recycled chipboard, inked and them embossed with embossing powder several times before stamping in to get he snowflake effect.

And yet another recycled envelope with a new sentiment placed and one of my die of the year cuts!
That is it from me today.  Off to bed now but before I go I shall pop over to the Snippets Playground for my horlicks (other night time drinks are available) and hopefully a bedtime story!

A Special Journal for a Special Friend!

Hello There

I recently made a very special friend of mine a little RAK and sent it to her in the post as a surprise.  I know she liked it and hope you do too!

I took a piece of leather, backed it with some paper.  Made some signatures and stitched them in by hand with a slight twist.
Yep!  I stitched beads on the spine.

Finished it all off with a leather cord to close the Journal up.

I know my friend liked it and I hope you do.

Have a great weekend.

Christmas cards III - Recycling and Snippets again!

Hello Again!!

Has anyone had enough of Christmas yet?  No - me neither!!

It is customary where I work that we have a "Girlies Chippey Do", however, as it fell to me to organise I mooted to have a Hope Lunch instead (aka Potluck Lunch or American Supper).  Most liked the idea and only two really complained that they wanted chips so we went ahead and held it today.  Apart from the fact that we couldn't have Christmas music it went down a storm.  A new tradition has been born!  Yeay!!

Right, onto the main reason we are here.....yet more Christmas cards with a mixture of Recycling, Snippets and VOS!

Can you guess I just love this MB tree?  And that bow with the star is divine, specially as they come in two sizes on the die and you can cut the stars off and use them solo!  A Twofa!!   I added some liquid pearls to the centres of the flowers - note to self - use liquid pearls more often.  A lovely Spellbinders border running down the side and some narrow spotty ribbon.

Next one is some snippets left over from my Christmas Album, recycled chipboard covered, die cut and then stamped before adding a piece of very narrow tinsel to my deer  More liquid pearls and my SU tag and stamp with sentiment by Hero Arts. Again, my MB die is out.  There is a carrot behind that star which is why the deer is trying to get it!!

Another one of my envelopes from a previous Christmas Album which has been sitting in the box.  I just replaced the sentiment and added a MB star.  Do you get the impression I like the MB star and bow die at all?

And lastly a 4x6 with a piece of cardstock left from my Christmas Album, TH lamppost with some light which has been stickled with Distress Schtickles.  The caroller is a die which my Buddy brought up and I added a teensy winsy holly decoration to her hat.  I think she likes it!  The music is one I had which I scanned and shrunk and printed.

Right, that is all from me tonight.  Thanks for calling by.  Have you written your List for Santa and sent it yet?  I have asked for a visit from Santa's Elves to come and visit MY workshop and stock it up with all the papers, dies and stamps I NEED.  An IOU til after Christmas will be perfectly acceptable!  Gotta dream!

Off to the Snippets Playground as there is a megaplethora of Snippets used here.  I think they breed in their box when I turn the light out as the pile never goes down!!

Hugs

Scrapbooking Tuesday - Mum's Christmas Pressie

Hello There

Welcome to Scrapbooking Tuesday.  Not many more before the year is over.  I have to say that I am pretty pleased with myself for keeping this Tuesday slot going for as much as I have.  Glad you like to see my Scrapbooking offerings and thank you all for your kind comments throughout the year.

Today I thought I would share with you a mini album which I have made for my Mum for Christmas.  It is 6x6" and very simple to make.  I got the inspiration from Laura Denison of Following the Paper Trail from a video I saw on You Tube a little while ago.  You may remember I made a miniature version to put my ATCs from WOYWW earlier this year.

The papers I have used are some VOS K&Co papers which as you may realise, I have had for some time.  They are double sided and I have been hanging on to this pad waiting for that particular project to come up.
The flowers on the front are a mixture of TH, Paperartsy, Prima and Sizzix.  The white Prima flowers have been sprayed with Sand Glimmer Mist.  The brown border is a flocked "ribbon" that I bought at a crafting outlet ages ago.  I also used my TH Doiley die onto which I stamped my TH flourish stamp with Gathered Twigs DI
Here is the spine which has been tied together with ribbon.  The idea is that as the album gets filled you can release the ribbons a little to allow for the spine to move.

Inside pages on which I used a plethora of Snippets and VOS embellishments.  The butterfly stickers were from a sheet I bought eons ago.
The tags were Papermania and I mounted them onto coloured card so that they didn't just merge into the background.
Each double page spread is made from one sheet of 12x12 paper and is folded to form two pages with pockets just by folding and adhering tape/dsst.
I punched the corners with Martha Stewart punches and my We R Memory Keepers corner chomper.  A lot of the ribbons came from my Ribbon Basket in which I keep Snippets (i.e. anything less than half a meter or recycled from clothes with ribbons in the shoulders).
I also pinched some of Lesley's card when she wasn't looking - Shhh!  All the tags were cut by hand using a tag from my collection to draw around.

This is the front cover paper which has the back cover paper on it's reverse!  I doodled around all the pages and the large square pages have paper on the reverse as on the front, making them double sided.  I inked throughout with Gathered Twigs DI.

The back cover, with a chipboard flower hiding the glued on ribbon which I added after the event!  Doh!

Thanks for popping by.  I hope you like it and that my Mum will too!

I shall be popping this into the Snippets Playground as there are loads of Snippets used up in this.

Funkie Junkie - 12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 6

Hello There

Happy First Day in December to you all!  Only 24 days to Christmas!

Only 21 days left to make all the Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas tags for 2013.  Yikes.  Today I am sharing with you my latest tag - Number 6.  HERE is Linda's tag.  As you can see I have picked most of Linda's elements from her tag and put them on to mine.  The tree, the bow, 25 and a bird.  Here is mine.......

I cut a tag using my TH die, stamped it with my TH text stamp and then placed two Snippets of patterned paper, MME and Dovecraft, both left over from my Christmas Album.  I then dug my trusty sewing machine out and stitched around the edges.  Yes honestly!  I did put an old needle back in so that it would not blunt the one I had only recently put in.  I cut a MB tree and then cut around the stencil by hand to make a backing for it, which I stamped with my favourite TH flourish and DI ink.I then added some Stickles to the centres of the flowers.
On the bottom of the tag I stamped an AO pinecone image with DI and embossed it with clear embossing powder.
I took a small "Silent Night" music score, and attached it to the top of the tag.  I cut the 25 from chipboard and embossed with a sparkly embossing powder several times and the dove I stamped with a snowflake pattern.  The final touch was to place a bow which I bought from Wilkinsons (4 for a £1 - I figured if I could find the ribbon it would cost me more than a £1!), placed a TH Poinsettia (VOS) and a Poinsettia (again VOS) and a little ribbon to hang the tag up.

As I mentioned above, there is still time to join in on the 12 Tags of Christmas 2013 Challenge, if you get your skates on.  Not that I will wear skates as I am afraid of falling!  Don't forget the Challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique and there is a prize at the end!

I am taking this to the Snippets Playground just as soon as the gates are open later today.  I can also take this to this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge and the  Artistic Stamper Challenge for December as their themes are "Anything Goes"

Thanks for calling by and please do leave me a comment so I know you have been.

Christmas Cards II - Look No Ink!!

Hello There Friends

Can you believe it is December on Sunday?  No, me neither!  I get to start my Christmas Album - yeay!  I am looking forward to filling it in.  If you haven't seen it and would like to, take a peek HERE.

I am going to share with you some.....wait for it......Christmas cards with NO INK used on them!  Brave or what?!  I was trying to create my first WOW but my Secret Critic told me that as I had used silver then it didn't count as a WOW card!

I have used my TH embossing folders, TH doiley die and of course my MB dies.  All the card used is from my White Snippets box and the silver likewise.

I do love the way the sun catches the MB candle die.  I have also rubbed some Schtickles over the embossing, but with the current lack of daylight except in the middle of the day I cannot quite capture the sparkle.
I do love this tartan embossing folder.  I carefully punched an embossed snowflake using my MS die and a snippet of embossed card.  My other favourite MB die in use again.  The ribbon was bought in Prague.  So pretty.
I am taking this over to the Snippets Playground.  Hopefully Miss is well on her way to 100 entries in the 100th week of Miss having the keys.

See ya later and thanks for calling by.
