NEC Stash!! Oops!!!

Hello Friends

For those nosey peeps who insisted on my showing you my new stash from the NEC here goes.......

It would seem that Paperartsy got the most of my pennies on Thursday!  The show was brilliant but very busy and crowded.  I did manage to meet up with Nicola and Hels.  Though unfortunately I did not get the camera out.  Julia, you will just have to believe that we had our WOYWW badges with us!!  Mine was on my bag!

I understand that many parts of the UK are having wet miserable weather so I will show you the first photo I took in which you can see a magnificent sun streaming through my Craft Room window!  Sorry if it makes you jealous, but at least it proves that it does not always rain in Wales!
I hope you are having a great weekend.   I had to run a mercy mission to the Vets this morning as one of our girls, Myfanwy, is unwell.  Please keep your fingers crossed for her.

That's all Folks!  Off to play with my new stash in between blowing my nose, coughing and sneezing! :-(

Friday Funnies - Church Ladies

Church Ladies With typewriters.

Those wonderful Church Bulletins! Thank God for church ladies with typewriters. These sentences (with all the BLOOPERS & TYPOS) actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced in church services:

The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.

The sermon this morning: 'Jesus Walks on the Water.' The sermon tonight: 'Searching for Jesus.'

Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say 'Hell' to someone who doesn't care much about you.

Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.

Miss Charlene Mason sang 'I will not pass this way again,' giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be 'What Is Hell?' Come early and listen to our choir practice.

Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.

Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered.

The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - prayer and medication to follow.

The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.

This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.

Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM . All ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the B. S. Is done.

The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the Congregation would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.

Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please use the back door.

The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in the Church basement Friday at 7 PM. The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large double door at the side entrance.

The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new campaign slogan last Sunday: 'I Upped My Pledge - Up Yours'.

If I am not too late I may pop back and show you my purchases, or I may just sneak them quietly into my room!

Thank You Snippets

Hello Friends

Brrr!  Don't know about you guys but I am feeling particularly cold today weatherwise.  But one thing I know for sure is that you always get a nice warm and fuzzy feeling when it comes to making and receiving comments on the blogs!  That is when Blogger is behaving itself and playing nicely!

Talking of warm and fuzzy moments, I wanted to send a few Thank You cards recently and so a quick rummage in the Snippets and embellishment drawers and I came up with these.....

I used the preprinted cards which I seem to have shed fulls of....again!  The button on the bottom card is leather....I imagine that came off someone's warm and cosy well loved Aran cardigan!  The stamped image on the top card is one of my friend Lesley's stamp which I borrowed when she wasn't looking!  The bottom stamping is Mr Tim Holtz's.  The labels are from, as I am sure you will recognise, Stampin Up punch.  The flowers on the bottom card came from the same source as the card blanks.  If anyone would like some (I have a few!) just drop me an e-mail and I can put some in the post for you!

That's all Folks! Except to say that I will be taking these over to the Snippets Playground.  I am hoping the firework party is all over now.  I am not fussed on fireworks due to the damage they can cause to people!  My chikkins and Dobby are not fussed either!  Our neighbour started their party right below us just as Strictly started....not impressed!  Frightened me half to death!

Triangles Challenge Quilt

Hello Friends

I am in a bit of a sewing mood at the moment and have been finishing some projects so I can reduce my sewing pile down.  Every time Lesley comes up for a crafting evening she walks past it and gives what can only be described as a "look"!!   I remembered I had not shared my miniature Challenge Quilt I was making a short while ago.  Here it is.....

Typical of me, it is in a Christmas kinda mood!  Just to give you an idea of the size, the whole quilt measures 12" x 12"!  Those triangles are minute and most definitely Snippets so it can go in the Treehouse over at the Snippets Playground.  Hopefully I will soon finish the project which most of these batik type fabrics are Snippets from!  Not the best photo of it, it is a little washed out, but these days the camera tends to need to have the flash switched on, but it is a near likeness.

Rumour has it that Teacher is off on a "Jolly" again so we can get up to mischief without her seeing or finding out....until she comes back that is!

Off to visit some other blogs now while I scoff my lunch!

Gipsy Album for Hubbie

Hello Friends

A bit of a long post tonight, so why don't you make yourself a cuppa and take a gander at your leisure.

It was recently mine and Mr Hettie's wedding anniversary and a few months ago I found some old photos of Gipsy vehicles which he went to see at a meeting before we were an "item". I know Brenda commented on them one WOYWW week as they were on my desk.

Well, this is what I did with them.....

I used a Kaiserkraft album that I bought eons ago from QVC which opens all the way out, I could not get a very good shot of the album in it's full length.  Papers by Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny, Bazzill.  Dies by Tim Holtz, Silhouette, Cricut, Nesties.  Stamps by Tim Holtz, Paperartsy, Making Memories, Darkroom Door.  Inks by Ranger, Stampin Up.  Punches by Stampin Up.  Embellishments by Tim Holtz, Reebok (yes really - Union Jack top right front cover!), Papermania, general stock. Glossy Accents by Ranger. Snippets.  Lots of Snippets!

Thanks for looking.  I can tell you Hubby loved it, and had not seen the photos for years!  He had quite forgotten about them!  I aim to please!

Friday Funny - Marriage made in Heaven

On their way to get married, a young Roman Catholic couple was involved in a fatal car accident.

The couple found themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven.

While anxiously waiting they began to wonder; could they possibly get married in Heaven?

When St. Peter arrived, they asked him if they could get married in Heaven.

St. Peter said, “I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out” and he left.

The couple sat and waited for an answer... for a couple of months.

While they waited, they discussed the pros and cons. If they were allowed to get married in Heaven, should they get married, what with the eternal aspect of it all? “What if it doesn't work? Are we stuck in Heaven together forever?”

Yet another month passed before St. Peter finally returned, looking somewhat bedraggled.

“Yes,” he informed the couple, “You can get married in Heaven.”

”Great!” said the couple. “But we were just wondering; what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?”

St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard on the ground.

“What's wrong?” asked the frightened couple.

“OH, come ON!!” St. Peter shouted. “It took me three months to find a priest up here!  Do you have ANY idea how long it'll take to find a lawyer???”
