Hello There
Third Tuesday of 2014 and so far so good. I have joined in with Tea on Tuesdays and "met" lots of lovely peeps and shared some of my special cups too. This week is no exception. So without further ado......
Another layout of my Hubby some 20 years ago when I bought him a Scalextric set from a chappie in work who was selling his and his son's sets. I was looking at buying a set for Hubby anyway and got a great bargain. The long shot you can see is the hallway after it had already gone round the lounge. We had it in the dining room too but we couldn't run up the hallway quick enough so we had to shorten it. We we also able to turn the lights out as the cars and track lit up. The funniest thing was to put a tennis ball on a car and watch our first dog Sputnik chase after the car!! So funny.
And my cup? It contains Devon tea, or should I say it did! Hubby's Jelly Belly mug. He is a bit of a Jelly Belly fan! Can you spot that we actually had some sunshine on Sunday morning I took these photos?
The paper is MME and doesn't it match the wallpaper well? The black cardstock is Bazzill. The "Happiness is" is from Cosmo Cricket cards. Elf and Safety and stars are Papermania.
The title was cut from TH die and then glossy accents over the top.
This little Love embellishment is East of India which I bought a while ago waiting for the right layout to pop it on to. And a NBIS "Just for You" stamp from Theresa Collins set.
Off to see what adventures Elizabeth and Bleubeard have had this Tuesday over a cup of tea and as some of the black cardstock is from my Snippets box I am off to see the peeps at the Snippets Playground. As the sun has been out today I am hoping the playground has dried up a little.
Thanks for calling by.
Hettie
Cool mug! My husband is a Jelly Belly fan, too, as it happens. Nice work on your scrapbook page. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun memory! Love the mug!
ReplyDeleteI love that MME paper. So perfect for a guy! A great layout.
ReplyDeleteLove the layout and the story to go with it. I laughed at the dog chasing after the tennis ball on top of the car. Such fun! Big boy toys are fun (so are big girl toys too--woot!) That jelly belly mug rocks! Don't let my hubby see or else he'll need one.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive layout. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I always appreciate a good layout when I see it. I love how you matted the photos with darker paper. And I agree the MME paper matches the wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute mug. I've only had Jelly Bellies once in my life, and I loved them. Not sure why I haven't looked for them again, because they are hard to find in Wichita, KS.
Thanks for sharing memories and T(ea) today.
I love your jelly belly cup! My husband builds model railways and they run all around the house too! Hey - T stands for trains too, I suppose!
ReplyDeleteOh Hettie your story is priceless!
